#aquacares National Food Bank Week, held during the second week of October, is not only a week-long food drive but also a time to raise awareness of the narrow line between a full cupboard and an empty one. Aqua partners with All Faiths Food Bank and the Food Bank of Manatee to help stop childhood hunger. For children, food insecurity is particularly devastating. Not having enough healthy food can have serious implications for a child’s physical and mental health, academic achievement, and future economic prosperity. Aqua is not just a partner, but a leader in the fight against childhood hunger. Our goal is to make a sustainable impact on children's lives, ensuring that hunger is not another obstacle they have to overcome while striving for a safe and happy home. Feeding the Needy: A Simple Initiative to Combat Rising Food Prices Feeding the needy is one of the greatest acts of kindness encouraged by our religion. It’s a simple act that can significantly help those suffering from the rising food prices. In Egypt, this charitable act can become a widespread social movement if everyone follows a straightforward but effective approach, just like my wife and I do. When we visit any restaurant, especially our favorite “Pablo” in Alexandria, known for its large portions, we often find the food exceeds our need. In the past, we used to leave the leftovers, but we decided to change this habit. We now ask the restaurant to pack the remaining food, and if we meet someone in need on the way, we give it to them instead of wasting it. Imagine if millions of Egyptians who dine out did the same. If wedding halls shared their leftover buffet food with the needy, or if hotels set up distribution points offering their surplus food to those in need nearby, we could help reduce the impact of the rising food prices on vulnerable people. These simple initiatives will not only provide nutritious, decent meals for the hungry but also reduce food waste and strengthen social solidarity. In the face of rising food prices, we can all be part of the solution by turning leftover food into a lifeline for those in desperate need. Let’s start today with a simple step that may seem small but carries the potential for significant change in our society. #FeedTheNeedy #ZeroFoodWaste #RisingFoodPrices #FoodForAll #SocialSolidarity #EndHunger #CharityInitiative #EgyptianHospitality #SupportTheNeedy #LeftoversForGood #ReduceFoodWaste #HungerRelief #SmallActsBigImpact #FoodSecurity #TogetherForChange

#Ramadhan brings a unique market landscape. During this month, we typically observe certain market behaviors. In the food supply chain, there's a common trend of food prices increasing. Across other industries, we see corporate greetings, Iftar parties, food-related charities, and various promotions aimed at Muslim consumers. I call upon businesses to observe the following ethical considerations: • Avoid Price Gouging: Resist the temptation to inflate prices during a time of increased demand. Maintain fair pricing to build trust and customer loyalty. • Respectful Communication: Ensure marketing materials and promotions are culturally sensitive and respectful of Ramadan traditions. • Embrace Social Responsibility: Consider partnering with charities or offering a portion of proceeds to support Ramadan-related causes. This is indeed a month for reflection, recommitment and action. #ramadhan2024 #ramadan2024 #ramadanmubarak #businessadvice #ethicalbusiness #naconsultancy #nataxconsultancy #consultancy #businessadvisory #business101 #marketingconsultant #marketingadvice #marketing101

There is pain and suffering in many places, Gaza, Ukraine, the Sudan and many many more. We may feel helpless in the face of that suffering, especially when it happens far away. But there is real suffering right here, in Aotearoa. 1 in 5 people do not have the food they need. And we are not helpless, we can hold our government accountable, we can speak up and we can and must do better #FoodForThought #FundingCutsCutPotential
It is a rare time, when I claim a space as Manutaki - Missioner to speak directly to our nation. This moment, today is one of those. As of 1 July 2024, the Mission will be reducing by more than half, the amount of food we distribute to those who have no other choice but to come to us to ask for help. We have pleaded with government for help. That help has not come. Today we ask you, New Zealand to see the reality of food insecurity in our midst. To see the depth of suffering in our city, and the indignity and harm that comes from not having enough to eat. It is appalling that we now face the prospect of turning people away at a time of such sustained and extraordinary need. #FundingCutsCutPotential #FoodForThought

Far from unique to New Zealand! Since the pandemic and subsequent declines in economic opportunities for the “average” worker, many families find themselves in dire straits. AI seems to be proposed as a way to reduce employment opportunities in many industries. This comes at a huge societal cost if not carefully managed. Bad actors are also using AI to create yet more devious schemes that extort money from those who cannot afford the diversion of their resources. This Brave New World we find ourselves in requires some radical new thinking to develop solutions. Governments and individuals need to be asking what else can I and we do to show more compassion to those in need. What else can I/we do to help civilization move forward? Do not ask what can I do to line my pockets at the expense of others, but ask what can I do to address the inequality and inequity that are so rampant in modern society. As George Orwell warned in “1984”, all men are created equal but some are more equal than others. That kind of thinking is not what the world needs now.

Zakatul Fitr is a charity given to the poor at the end of Ramadan. The main purpose of it is that we give enough for others to celebrate Eid as well. Say you want to give Zakat ul Fitr in cash - is this allowed? Or is it better to give it in food? There is a difference of opinion, as explained by Shaykh Waleed Basyouni explains. Watch the video below! https://lnkd.in/gwX3zsWp
