So many great takeaways here, but one that got me thinking was this: "Part of the reason capacity is leaving slowly has to do with banks that own the liens on equipment and their reluctance to repossess that equipment... ...If used Class 8 truck prices go up, ATA’s Bur said she expects to see a significant number of exits due to bank repossessions." Given that the main mechanism for used truck prices to go up would be for the freight market to start to turn around, this seems like it could be counter-productive for those same banks to take back an underperforming asset for presumably still a loss instead of letting the trucker continue to work and start paying it down? But what do I know, I only got a B+ in "Financial & Managerial Accounting" Well, just in case, you are one of those trucking or banking folks trying to get the best recovery from your asset liquidation, give us a call at Purple Wave Auction and we'll help you find the best buyer community possible with our Straight, Simple, Sold process. #trucking #logistics #purplewave #usedtrucks

2wIt’s fascinating to see the trucking industry bracing for a seismic shift in 2025. With new regulations popping up like weeds in spring, it seems like every driver and fleet manager will need to channel their inner acrobat to navigate these changes. Zero-emission vehicles? Speed limiters? It’s almost like we’re trying to make the Wild West a little more…well, civilized. As RPM moves into its new Birmingham haven, it’s clear that innovation is not just on the horizon; it’s steering the wheel! Here’s to a future where sustainability and efficiency merge seamlessly, leaving us with a fleet of eco-friendly rigs and perhaps a slightly less chaotic road ahead. Exciting times for the remarketing space indeed!
