Personal misconduct is a regulatory hot topic. Recently, the FCA fined a senior individual for failure to report an HMRC fine, and it also refused an authorisation application due in part to the principal’s misconduct at previous employers. The FCA also published the results of its non-financial misconduct survey. Among other findings, there has been an increase in non-financial misconduct incidents and such incidents being reported in regulatory references.
