As someone who loves shoe technology and leading Support organizations, Nike’s 2017 Breaking2 project hits home. It’s about more than just aiming to break the two-hour marathon barrier; it’s about the drive to achieve the seemingly impossible through innovation and iteration. Watching these first-of-its-kind high-performance running shoes evolve via sports science and data analysis was fascinating! We carry this same culture in our support teams, encouraging teams to fearlessly innovate and find new ways to improve. In the end, it’s those small improvements that can make BIG impacts on our customers. By improving even the smallest details, we not only enhance our operational efficiency but also foster a culture where every voice and idea can enrich our customer’s experience.

"First, we crawl, then we walk, then we run." This insightful remark from a colleague at Nike resonated with me deeply. It perfectly encapsulates the approach we should take towards digitalization and innovation. However, the reality often looks more like this: 🚅 Sprinting right out of the gate, only to quickly tire. 👟 Attempting to maintain a running pace, but becoming exhausted. 🚶♂️ Walking seems sustainable, but not when early sprints have built up too much debt. 🧟 Eventually, we're merely crawling towards the finish line—if we reach it at all. It's time we rethink our strategies. Start with the basics: crawl to make necessary validations. Save the sprint for the final push when it truly counts.
