By doing this, we hope to build the bridge between WOC and corporations to discuss how the workplace can be more inclusive and what next steps can be taken to improve the current DE&I policies and practices to accommodate to the unique experiences of WOC. Yesterday, we had the privilege of attending the first Women's Night Safety Summit of 2024, an inspiring and pivotal event held at the prestigious Hurlingham Club. As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing community safety and supporting the empowerment of women and girls, we are proud to reflect on the day's powerful discussions and initiatives. 🌃✨ The summit, aligned with the Mayor's Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and London's pledge to the UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces global initiative, brought together thought leaders, activists, and community members in a collective effort to make our nights safer for women. Key moments included: - Engaging discussions on the importance of community licensing and its role in enhancing night safety. - A focus on how the sports community, particularly football clubs, are contributing to safer and more inclusive environments. - Insights into how businesses can innovate and adapt to ensure safety and support for women in the workforce and in public spaces. - The vital role of youth voices in shaping the future of our public spaces, emphasising the need for intergenerational collaboration. - and so much more. The Women's Night Safety Summit served as a powerful reminder of the urgency and importance of our collective efforts to ensure safety for women and girls. At STM Group, we are inspired to continue our work with renewed commitment, striving to contribute to a safer, more inclusive society. Connection via a volunteer event is much more impactul for a team rather than happy hours. I have learned so much about my co workers sorting canned goods, cutting watermelon and coaching women which in return allows for more comfort reaching out for help on the team. As my friend Heather Geronemus says don't give back just give! Research shows proof - if you need it. My proof is in my experiences.
