Thankful for the opportunity to be part of National Injury Prevention Day! My station was interacive, focusing on “Hands only CPR” with demonstrations and sharing resources with the community.
Hands only CPR is a natural introduction to CPR, learning conventional CPR is a recommended next step.
Some facts (cited from AHA)
❤️When a person has a cardiac arrest, survival depends on IMMEDIATELY receiving CPR from someone nearby.
❤️Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death, each year more than 350,000 EMS assessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States.
❤️Roughly 90% of people who suffer out-of-the hospital cardiac arrests die.
❤️Over 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes.
❤️ONLY 40% of people who experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest receive the immediate help that they need before professional help arrives.
❤️CPR, especially if performed IMMEDIATELY, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victims chance of survival.
