Five reasons are given here for not using this phrase and I like reason #3: It creates confusion. Is the sender using this gratuitously as in "Have a nice day" and doesn't expect a response or would they truly like to hear how well things are going (or not)? I would prefer the phrase not be used at all 🤔

“It’s time to ban this phrase once and for all, argues this communications expert.” Sounds like someone has a lot of time on their hands. Gee wiz, it’s getting really tiring on everyone wanting a ban on what we say. I remember many moons ago so called experts wanting to remove the word beautiful because in their opinion, the word was being used too much. Sayings come and go, they will disappear over time. How many people go around these days with every response being “groovy man”. We didn’t need an expert to request a ban on that, it just went away naturally. Here is an idea. Rather than wasting time on searching things that they want banned, be productive and create something that just might replace it. Let’s say that we have a box of marbles and we spend all our time going endlessly over each marble and finding things wrong and frustrating with every marble we see. Soon the box will be empty and we will be even more frustrated because we can no longer spend the time criticizing marbles, so it will be time to move on to something else to find fault with. Life is too short, in my opinion and should be spent being productive rather than destructive. It’s a better place to be in.
