Rubra Group’s Post

Jenny and I had a really good conversation today about family businesses and working to help them sustain themselves. Family Business Magazine recently did a really nice article about Jenny and her twin sister Katie co-leading their family enterprise. #ESOP #Familybusiness #leadership Jenny Dinnen Raad Ghantous Mike Schmitt

"You can't be Co-Presidents.....it will never work!" I can't tell you how often Katie Rucker and I have heard this over the years of running our family business together. We made the decision over 10 years ago to be Co-Presidents and I am here to tell you that the business didn't fall apart and we are actually doing quite well. While I would never say that it is the right answer for all companies or all leaders, I can tell you that if done for the right reasons, it can work really well. It was fun this week to see the latest Family Business Magazine with Katie Rucker and Sara B. Stern's article on this where they dig into differing opinions on this topic. I thought that Zack Needles did a great job of sharing perspectives on both sides. If you have ever been curious about how co-leadership could work, feel free to check out their article: https://lnkd.in/gz9aGekq
