#AmericanCrisis | "We are opponents, not enemies, but that's not the way this election has been waged. H*rris gives as good as she gets, and I'm concerned that no matter who wins, we have a crack-up when this is over." "We all know how we behave to each other. It's not just negativity. We're trying to destroy the credibility of our opponents. We're trying to do so in ways that they can't reestablish it. It's almost like killing on a political basis. It has to stop... and it's not going to stop... and it is a sh*t show." "What Americans need right now is just a little bit of silence, and a lot of understanding and empathy. What we need is mutual respect and dignity. "People made promises that they haven't kept. Politicians have said year after year, election after election, we hear you, we're listening, we'll fight for you... and then nothing changes.” “Donald Trump has the 'Angry' Vote. The Vote that wants revenge. 72% of Americans say they are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore, and the majority of them are voting for Donald Trump. He's captured that sentiment." #THOUGHTS US pollster Frank Luntz was one of the first nonpartisans to come out and explain the factors that impacted the 2016 presidential upset election. This video came out a month ago before the H*rris-Tr*mp presidential debate. The suggestions he gave that would seal the win for H*rris have not been adopted so far. No matter which presidential candidate wins in two weeks, neither will unify the country. We will not have NATIONAL leaders to calm the waters. #Unity is not valuable to them. That means state and local leaders, as well as unofficial leaders in our communities, will have to step up What else can we do? We have to be prepared for a breakdown at the national level in resolving these issues. We have to be prepared to show leadership in impacting our communities. A good friend of mine Scott Mann has this mantra that "No One Is Coming To Save You". As a Army National Guard Soldier, I hope that's not true, but we need to recognize that our failing institutions are leading us to that reality. It is up to us as friends, neighbors, coworkers, and citizens to restore and rebuild the social norms that bind us together. We... Us... Together... pronouns matter. That's the only way we get through this.

This is a repost, originally published July 31, 2024 here and on Substack. The article was written before Biden announced he would not run for re-election, so the article has that persective. The article below is MVaN. The recently published LegalEagle Youtube video shared here explains, crystal clear, why in this election, policy does not matter. I hope you read and view. Thank you! We’re coming to a head on what is probably one of the worst, or possibly the worst, presidential election ever. At this point in time, it is very likely not an overreaction to wonder whether the United States will still be here in a few years. This is not a Democrat vs Republican issue, though most (wrongly) argue it from that position. This is about: Will this American experiment continue or will we fracture into a smattering of worthless regional nation-states like the breakup of the Soviet Union? The Democrats have managed to box themselves into an incompetent corner which will be exceedingly difficult to escape. Conversely, the Republicans have jumped head-first off a cliff and managed to take a third of the county with them on their way down to the jagged rocks below. If (when) Trump wins the Presidency in 2024, I very much fear this will be the beginning of the end for us all. I can understand how the ‘Right’ may think the country is going to hell with the direction the ‘Left’ has chosen. And normally, the Left thinks about the same of the Right. However, now the choice is between a Left shit-show and a Right apocalypse. How many out there on the local, state, or national stage do you see attempting to unite? Not many, if any, unfortunately. If enough people can’t pull their collective heads out of their asses and start working together, we’re all in for some serious trouble in just the next few years.

Our Quote of the Week speaks to the international influence of the United States and the high stakes that a US presidential election has for the world community. Although the world political landscape has changed significantly since the early 1960s, the US continues to be one of the most influential countries in the world. It is important to recognize, therefore, that when US citizens cast their ballots during a presidential election, they are choosing a direction not just for their own communities or their nation, but, to a significant degree, for the international community, as well. Seen in this context, voting becomes a responsibility that is not to be ignored or taken lightly. https://buff.ly/3YMabN8

On this Election Day 2024, there's angst, uncertainty, and worry--from all voters. Know that no matter what, we'll survive. We're stronger than that, better than that. This country has been through so much worse in its history. We don't all agree, we don't all see the same issues as important, and the same things don't matter to all of us. Disagreement doesn't make us enlightened and the other side idiots, it makes us all Americans. Clearly there is work to be done. Let's commit to staying informed, educate ourselves, remember the functions of the three branches of our government, and do our part to make things better in our daily lives. Things often get worse before they get better, and change takes time. Be patient, but be vigilant. Seek out the truth. Most importantly, VOTE, it's what makes our system work. #ElectionDay2024 #vote McCormick L.A. Public Relations
