It's been almost two months and I'm really fond of the new typeface of Spotify. And I recently learned that one of the reasons behind this change is that the previous one was "too perfect". Yes, it was too perfect and impersonal, so they wanted to create something more human and relatable. This made me think about how certain typefaces can feel timeless while others have an expiry date, as the brand and its identity transform.
