Investors over-index on time. What does this mean? As a #founder, I started two companies. One without investors and one with VCs and angels. Time is important to any business, but sometimes with a startup you simply need more time to find where the business should live and with which customers. Giide is a horizontal product. It could have lived anywhere and everwhere, from travel to teaching. It took our small team more time to find the best place to focus. Does that make the company less valuable? That time factor is what investors value A LOT. Meaning: how long did it take you? Does time really matter as long as you find PMF? If it does, why? If I were on the investor side I would over-index on grit. Grittiness leads founders to where they need to go. It's reliable. And some go fast, some go slow.
