MEP Vlad Voiculescu takes the stage at the #EuropeanCancerSummit to share powerful insights on how collaborative efforts and policy innovation are reshaping cancer research across Europe. 🔬 His perspective highlights the impact of those networks, including our Research Policy Network. 💬 'Policy should be evidence-based, something that is not being discussed properly right now. Since yesterday, we have a Health Commissioner that believes in science, in continuity with the previous one. But this is not always the case for all politicians, and we need to change the trend. We can take action now, through those instruments that we already have a European level, such as European Reference Networks or the Joint Actions' Find out more 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e4UAvpWN

We are thrilled to start a new chapter! Today, we’re announcing the reorganization and renaming of our Center. The Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) is now the Center for Cancer Health Equity (CCHE). You'll see our new name here on LinkedIn soon. This is more than just a name change. The new name represents the lens through which we view our work. Our efforts are not only to shine a light on disparities but, rather, are geared toward leveling these disparities while simultaneously achieving health equity. To learn more about guiding factors that led to this exciting new chapter, our mission, four branches, and more, read our latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/edddjMCi

I’m incredibly excited to share the launch of CancerIQ Reach, a new solution that’s so close to my heart because of the impact it can have on real lives. Here’s what makes it so special: CancerIQ Reach helps health systems find and engage patients at high risk for cancer—before they even step into a clinic. By delivering targeted outreach and personalized care pathways, we’re helping patients take control of their health while enabling health systems to detect risks earlier and prevent late-stage diagnoses. What’s amazing about it? -We’ve seen stories like Nebraska Medicine’s, where a focused campaign led to a 270% increase in low-dose lung CTs scheduled. -Or how simple, personalized outreach resulted in a 6X increase in preventive screenings—helping catch issues before they became bigger problems. For me, it’s exciting to see how this kind of innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about helping people, supporting families, and creating healthier communities. I am a great believer in the power of science and the impact it can have on improving healthcare. However, what I believe to be as, if not more important, is how scientific breakthroughs in healthcare are applied to different geographies and cultures so that it can have its maximum impact. Every year, over 604,000 women worldwide are diagnosed with cervical cancer and approximately 342,000 die from this largely preventable disease, caused by infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Today is #HPVAwarenessDay, a crucial time to confront the issue of cervical cancer. The overwhelming majority – 9 out of 10 women – who die from cervical cancer live in low- and middle-income countries. Early detection is pivotal to the reduction of cervical cancer risk, but something we don’t talk about enough is the barriers to sample collections such as embarrassment, cultural influences and negative prior experiences. Self-collection gives control back to a woman without the need for an examination. I am so proud to be a small part of advancing access to more inclusive forms of healthcare. This case study by Roche and BBC StoryWorks is a prime example of when science and societal and cultural understanding come together to make a real impact. #HPV #HPVAwarenessDay #ValueofDiagnostics #HealthcareForAll
