See the in-depth "Behavioral health parity – Pervasive disparities in access to in-network care continue" detailing how we have made no progress in creating better and comparable access to in-network #behavioralhealthcare conducted by my amazing former RTI International colleague, Tami Mark and @William Parish, (health economist at RTI International). Out-of-network #behavioralhealth use is consistently higher than med/surgical, higher than any of the 24 medical/surgical sub-specialty providers studied and BH providers have lower reimbursement than med/surg providers for similar services, using Medicare reimbursement benchmarks. Sad to see #washingtonstate among the top 5 states with the highest #disparities where "behavioral health clinician office visits were out-of-network more than seven times as often as medical/surgical clinicians." #mentalhealthparity
