10 October is #WorldMentalHealthDay, a moment to reflect on the importance of mental health. 📌This year, the World Health Organization focuses on “Mental Health at Work”, emphasising that workers’ health and safety must be an urgent priority for governments, employers, and worker unions to improve work conditions, aiming for a meaningful involvement of all parts. The European Pain Federation wants to evidence the crucial connection between mental health and chronic pain, aiming to enhance the quality of life, physical and mental, of patients. 👉It's essential to foster awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for better resources and support systems. We need to prioritise comprehensive care that addresses both mental and physical health for those suffering from chronic pain. How can health system boards make behavioral health a priority? By focusing on the mental health of people, patients and communities, health systems can play a critical role in driving meaningful change. "It is imperative that board members of hospitals and health care organizations prioritize and address mental health in their communities. By proactively monitoring and assessing the mental health needs of the community, board members can ensure that available resources are effectively leveraged to provide accessible and high-quality mental health services. They must collaborate with local stakeholders and promote innovative solutions to effectively address the growing mental health challenges in communities." -Arpan Waghray , MD, CEO, Providence's Well Being Trust Learn more: http://ms.spr.ly/6042YoZLY #healthcareleaders #mentalhealth #behavioralhealth
