Below is a very short list of some of the top ones we have seen: -Strong Communication Skills: PE investor relation professionals should be able to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to both investors and internal teams. Listening is equally as important, a quality IR professional will hear their LPs and will use that information to make the necessary adjustments to further strengthen the relationship. -Relationship Building: PE IR professionals should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster trust and rapport with investors to build and keep relationships strong. Emotional intelligence plays a major role here. The IR professional needs to weigh both the subjective and objective factors. Team Player: PE Investor relations professionals often times need to work closely with other departments such as finance, legal, and marketing to ensure total cohesion. To achieve maximum collaboration, versatility is key here, overlapping skillsets often go a long way.
