The new load cell from #staht makes testing so simple, we've now trained our staff in it's use, it only takes seconds to understand the app which means the certificate is a third party tester so ideal for testing your own equipment. What do I mean by third party for testing? Because the app creates the certificate and will only produce a pass or fail as determined by the standards used to test, it is not seen as being incestuous. An incestuous test is where you have tested an item you own, written down details but there is no fully traceable way to confirm the results of the test and a pass may be in your own best interest at that time. The app on the Staht makes it that a false test can't be produced unless you alter the test criteria itself and that would be shown on the certificate still proving that the test wasn't sufficient and so a fail. Add to this that the units are well designed and rugged and we have to say they have made our testing far easier. When testing many lifting devices, davits and anchor points we have always used the most appropriate method to verify the test often using a load cell, but the new #staht load cell adds a whole new dimension to these tests. When using a load cell, we needed to have proof of calibration, so a certificate. Then a sheet to fill out to construct the test process, load, times and address along with identifying marks. Then pictures to verify the test has been done and all of this needs to be collated together to finally produce a certificate of test and conformity to the client. The new Staht Load Cell means we can conduct all of the verification with one product that delivers categoric proof of our test and creates the certificate automatically, it can even show where it was done by giving the GPS coordinates. An inconspicuous but helpful detail: the openings in the transport frame, which can be seen below the base frame in this picture. With the help of these open-ings, the single casings can be conveniently placed on site during installation. This makes work easier for the installation teams on site.
