From interviewing the stars of KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES to interviewing the composer himself, John Paesano! I'm a big fan of his work, and I'm sure many people are too without even knowing. He's also worked on Netflix's DAREDEVIL and THE DEFENDERS, THE MAZE RUNNER trilogy, INVINCIBLE, Insomniac's SPIDER-MAN games, and so much more. Check out Adam Blevins and I's talk with the legendary composer at the Agents of Fandom, LLC to learn more about Paesano's process and for fascinating insights into the importance of musical scores in media. Composed by Alexander Lyons (aka EbenezerBlue), this OST upload for YouTube features all the tracks that play in the game - as well as some unused pieces and alternate variations that were previously left on the cutting room floor. So join Joseph, Angeli, and her dad Taizo as they reminisce through music about their life-changing adventure together. https://lnkd.in/ees_mkv4

My main passion is design and in particular design systems. My second is film, animation, story telling and everything that goes with it. Together with my partner in crime Michael Popescu we have a side project "Behind the Mirror" which serves more as a showroom, concept pool and idea dumpster. Or like in this case - portfolio: Michael worked on a short film with Bob Odenkirk and created this (in my opinion wonderful) soundtrack! 🎵 Lean back and listen #soundtracks #shortmovie #movie
As a follow-up to the release of Bob Odenkirk's WÜNSCH MIR GLÜCK, here's the complete soundtrack to the short. If you like jazzy tunes and violence, this should do the trick. #bobodenkirk #laloschifrin #soundtrack #shortfilm

Improvisation on the 18th of December 2021 at 23:57 (excerpt 4). Through my living, through my awkward playing, I understand, more and more, who I was, and who I am. Or where I really come from. With the usual flaws, false or wrong notes, of course. Better with some headphones, maybe. Why is this improvised excerpt so short? Well, because there is a new theme here that is developped during a few measures, or bars. Nothing great, of course, in this very short live recording, or in this very series of excerpts, excerpt that I like it. I have said already many times, in the drop-down menu, that it was, for me, in the absence of a Disklavier, for instance, a way to keep track of many of my musical ideas, improvised from a real grand piano, a thing which I can't obtain from a computer software, even with a piano sound, as I necessarily play different things, the reason being mainly due to the weight of the keys, or to the kind of master keyboard that I use. And that there were, sometimes, without any doubt, many flaws, wrong or false notes (but not always, fortunately), which I have tried, as objectively as possible, to mention. Needless to say, I am not a piano virtuoso, even if I also happen to play very well, from time to time. But that's not the point of this channel, anyway. I hope you all understood it.

Collaboration is the key to success.
Friendly reminder for the week: “No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.” – H.E. Luccock It's a simple game of addition vs multiplication. Illustration by me 🤓 P.S. I've created 500+ visual metaphors like this to teach interesting ideas. Follow Pejman Milani for more.

💭 Sharing a great reminder from our friend Pejman Milani. 🎨 We always say that a solo cofounder cannot do it alone... In Pejman's illustration, consider each color to be not only a different person completing a task, but a different perspective as well. 🫙 In a startup, everyone needs to own their own domain and execute well - dividing and conquering is a paramount element of the equation for success, however everyone's domain needs to ultimately come together as one to complete the picture, or fill the vessel as in Pejman's drawing. This tune started as a simple bass track. Which goes to show, you can write and compose with bass. Elinora by Joel R. Cooper on #SoundCloud https://lnkd.in/grBCi4Zf

"Their sound is rich with velvety echoes reminiscent of The Cure and early 4AD, blending the dreamy allure of dream pop with warm electronic elements, steering clear of any traces of cold detachment. What sets PINDHAR apart is the exceptional quality of their songs." 🤔Instead of playing: | Fm7 | B♭7 | E♭maj7 | 😎Play: | Fm7 A♭m7 | Bm7 B♭7 | E♭maj7 | 📖 This substitution is inspired by the classic "I Hear A Rhapsody" by George Fragos, Jack Baker, and Dick Gasparre, where a traditional II V I is transformed into a more intricate progression. In this case, the II V I in E♭ major (Fm7 - B♭7 - E♭maj7) is substituted with: Fm7 (II in E♭ major) A♭m7 (II of the backdoor dominant) Bm7 (II of a tritone substitution) B♭7 (V in E♭ major) E♭maj7 (I in E♭ major) 🧾 This creates a progression where the II chord of the tonic shifts by a minor third to a II chord of the backdoor dominant then shifts by a minor third to a II chord of a tritone substitution, adding richness, complexity and a modern sound. 💡Interestingly, you don't need the rhythm section to play these changes; you can improvise using the substitution #chords over the original #changes, and it will still work harmonically. If you are a #pianist, support yourself with your left hand using the new changes to add confidence to the intent. #jazz #JazzTheory #JazzHarmony #MusicTheory #ChordSubstitution #Improvisation #JazzImprovisation
