Global warming is making the Arctic more accessible to maritime traffic. However, there are some major downsides, not least for polar wildlife. As High North News explains, more maritime traffic is now encroaching on areas inhabited by Artic whales. As a result, the narwhal, beluga, and bowhead whales that inhabit the Far North are exposed to potentially harmful human activities.
