Photography is more than a visual art form— It’s a bridge that connects history, culture, and community. In museums, it serves as a powerful tool to preserve moments in time, making history and art accessible to all. Through the lens, we not only capture artifacts and exhibitions but also the emotions, stories, and experiences that define our shared human journey. Photography invites communities into the museum space, sparking curiosity, dialogue, and reflection. It builds a living archive, allowing us to connect with the past while inspiring future generations to engage with culture in meaningful ways. In this way, photography helps museums transform from places of quiet observation to vibrant spaces of community connection and storytelling. #museum #photography Visit Orlando Museum Of Art currently showing four great exhibitions: PUSH, TORN APART, FRONT ROW CENTER, GOLDEN LEGACY (September 22 to January 5)

In 2018, I asked Black teenagers from various #Chicago neighborhoods: "Where have you been made to feel like you don't belong?" I photographed them in those places and recorded their stories. Last year, during my two-month residency in #Paris, I asked the same question to young Black and Algerian individuals, expanding my "Belonging Project" into a transatlantic conversation about racial divisions in these major cities. Now, I'm excited to share their compelling reflections and portraits with you part of the "Opening Passages: Photographers Respond to Chicago and Paris" exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center. This exhibit, open FREE to the public from May 4th to August 25th, captures the experiences people from both #Chicago and #Paris. Through portraits and audio narratives, you can hear their personal stories, including more from these young French men Osain Vichi , Karlton seydi and Enzo Fonclaud 📍 Chicago Cultural Center, 4th Floor North Exhibition Hall 🗓️ Admission is FREE, Open May 4th to August 25th ⏰ Daily from 10 AM to 5 PM (Exhibition closes 15 mins before the building) Curated by Carl Fuldner with Clément Postec & Pascal Beausse and I'm honored to share this space with talented photographers: zakkiyyah najeebah dumas-o'neal, Marzena Abrahamik, Jonathan Castillo, Assia Labbas, Marion Poussier, Karim Kal, Rebecca Topakian and Sasha Phyars-Burgess. This event is part of Art Design Chicago and supported by Albertine Foundation, Institut français Alliance Française de Chicago, University of Chicago, Ateliers Médicis, Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap), and more. Can't wait to see you there! #PhotographyExhibit #ChicagoParis #UrbanStories #ExploreBlackness *Special thanks to my close friend and fellow #EnglewoodArtsCollective co-founder David Robinson for being my partner and sound engineer on this series! 🔥💯✊🏽

In my research of the theme Panta Hen, all is one, I discovered the scientist von Humboldt (18th century). He looked for the deeper patterns in nature, based on questions such as: "Why are there fewer birds in India than in South America and why are tigers only found in Asia?" He saw the damage caused by deforestation and the colonial system and developed a new view of nature. This saw the earth as one large organism, in which everything is connected and is controlled and animated by internal forces, Het developed the concept of 'The Web of Life', the idea in which nature is considered and we become aware of its vulnerability. Everything is interconnected and if one thread is pulled apart, the entire fabric unravels. This moved me deeply because it is very actual, and I wanted to translate this visually. Because it is about the coherence of everything I focussed on the lines that connect the small canvasses I used. Title: Hen Panta 3, a wall object of 42 canvasses, on which corrugated cardboard is connected by paper wrapped around the iron wire, 73 x 40 x 7 cm.#constructivism, #geometrivisenat, #cineticart, #artconcret, #abstractart, #museums, #galleries, #artcontemporain, #onlyabstractart, #artproject, #visualart, #theartworld, #kunst, #artistsbandtogether, #womanartist

As part of our #SportandArt month we ran a series of online events and webinars with the most recent topic on the subject of digitisation and the art of sporting heritage. But what exactly do we mean by digitisation? ‘Digitising’ museum objects means making copies of physical originals in digital form – for example, by scanning or photographing 2D items or transferring the contents of reels of film or audio tape into digital formats. It can also refer to 3D scanning of objects or, more loosely, any digital photography of collections.’ - Collections Trust’s working definition of ‘digitisation’ The art of preserving sports history is being revolutionised in the digital age and is now an increasingly important aspect of good collection management for any heritage organisation. Should this aspect of managing your collection seem overwhelming, we have pulled extensive resources to help you, which you can find via our toolkit in the “digitising your collection” section. Head over to our website to discover how our toolkit can support you in the digitisation of your sporting heritage collections.: https://bit.ly/3SiFtZh #Digitisation #CollectionManagement #SportingHeritage #ScottishArchivesDay #Digital #Museum #Archive #Heritage #CollectionCare
