Today we recognise the work of incredible American artists in our major exhibitions, As We Rise: Photography from the Black Atlantic, and Anastasia Samoylova: Adaptation. As We Rise embraces the notion of “lifting as we rise” – empowering your community while striving for personal success, and is the reason why the many works featured in the exhibition reflect on the themes of Community, Identity, and Power. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “A triumph... a monumental archival tribute to the cultures and stories so often pushed to the fringes.” - @theupcoming Adaptation invites us to question and reflect on our surroundings. Intertwining aesthetics with socio-politics, Samoylova's art is a dynamic response to our rapidly changing world, addressing themes such as capitalism, climate change, gentrification, and the gendered occupation of public space.
