Call for Applications for the EURO Prize for OR for the Common Good 2025 https://lnkd.in/e8pXcWKr https://lnkd.in/efDbcuX9 All interested candidates are invited to submit a detailed description of an application of OR with a real impact on society for the common good, which has original features, whether in methodology, field of application and/or implementation. This may be in the form of a paper written for publication (although not necessarily published at the time of submission), a client report, or other appropriate documentation. The documentation must describe the work in a way that illustrates how it meets the criteria outlined below. The age limit for published papers is four years. The work must not have been submitted concurrently to another competition. The application is open to OR specialists from any part of the world. Please also check the guidelines. The criteria for the evaluation of the papers are: real impact on society for the common good, scientific quality, appreciation by the organisation involved with the application, originality in methodology, implementations and/or field of application. Letters of appreciation by the organization involved with the application are important. The jury selects a short-list of finalists who will present their work in a special session at the 34th European Conference on Operational Research in Leeds. There is no registration fee for one representative of each of the finalist presentations. The winner will be determined by the jury at the end of the special session(s) and will be announced by the chair of the jury during the closing session of the EURO 2025 Conference. Join the CERFA Rapid Fire Talks 2024! Do you have fascinating research you'd like to share? This is your moment! Take part in our Rapid Fire Talks during the CERFA Symposium, which will take place on November 9, 2024, at the Instituto Cervantes in Munich. Present your work in 3 minutes and compete for prizes of 100 EUR and 50 EUR. Presentations are free in terms of the topic and do not need to be related to the event's theme, so feel free to share any research you're passionate about! How to participate? Submit an abstract (title + 150 words in English) by October 1, 2024. Prepare your talk: 3 minutes to present, 2 minutes for questions. Be concise, captivating, and stand out! Prizes: 100 EUR for first place. 50 EUR for second place. Winner selection: 50% by the jury and 50% by on-site audience voting via our app (just like Eurovision). What else?
