🌍 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗡𝗙𝗖𝗖𝗖 & 𝗖𝗢𝗣 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 🌱 I am excited to share that I recently participated in a two-day online workshop on "𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗡𝗙𝗖𝗖𝗖 & 𝗖𝗢𝗣 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀" and earned a certificate of completion! The workshop provided invaluable insights into the mechanisms of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Conference of the Parties (COP), equipping participants to engage more effectively in global climate advocacy. Here are some key takeaways from the workshop: ✅ What UNFCCC and COP are, their purpose, and how they operate. ✅ The role of negotiators, negotiation processes, and how policies are shaped at the global level. ✅ The importance of youth participation in climate policy advocacy and representation at COP events. ✅ The distinction between Observer Badges and Party Badges, and the roles of government delegations in representing Bangladesh. ✅ Strategies for young leaders to play an active and impactful role in international climate forums. This workshop has not only enhanced my understanding of global climate governance but also inspired me to contribute to climate advocacy and policy-making. I look forward to applying this knowledge to represent my community effectively and to collaborate with like-minded individuals in addressing climate challenges. Let’s work together to create a sustainable future! 🌏 #ClimateChange #UNFCCC #COP #YouthLeadership #ClimateAdvocacy #Sustainability

Climate change and governance deficits are fueling insecurity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the east, environmental degradation, poverty, and illicit exploitation of natural resources are exacerbating conflicts. On November 15th, at the same time as world leaders are gathered in Baku for the yearly climate action summit, FBA and the Swedish Ambassador to the DRC invited experts from civil society, government and academia as well as the EU Special Representative for the Great Lakes Region, the EU Ambassador to the DRC and the Dutch Ambassador to the DRC for a roundtable focused on generational and gender aspects, as well as entry points for dialogue and engagement. Key takeaways: 💡 Protecting DRC’s forests – the world’s largest carbon sink – is imperative, as they are threatened by economic developments. Sustainable management of shared natural resources is crucial. 💡 Peacebuilding and stabilization efforts must include thorough climate analysis to better understand and address conflict dynamics. Ignoring these interactions risks undermining the effectiveness of interventions, excluding essential factors for resilience and durable solutions. 💡 Different groups are affected in different ways, requiring inclusive representation – particularly of women and youth – in decision-making and climate action. #DRC #COP29 #EU

Reflections on 2024 and COP29🍁 From a chemistry lab in the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency, Government of Sindh, Pakistan to the global stage at COP29, this year showcased the transformative power of collaboration and youth leadership in driving climate action. 🍁 Key Achievements in 2024: 🌍 COP29 Azerbaijan Representation: Advocated for equitable climate finance for vulnerable nations at high-level negotiations. Collaborated with stakeholders from Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Tajikistan, and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). 💧 Water Sustainability at COP29: Presented "The Economics of Water: Sustaining Our Lifeline" at the Extreme Hangout Pavilion. Proposed solutions like rainwater harvesting and community conservation to address water scarcity. 🎤 Media and Advocacy: Featured in ClimaTalk and UNFCCC Climate Voices, emphasizing local solutions for global water and climate challenges. ➡️ In 2024, I delivered lectures on youth-driven climate action, emphasizing the intersection of climate change and human rights. This year, I also connected with Climate Solution International, Liquid Trees, Environment Key Global, and Renew Watts Technologies, and became an active member of the YPFP (Young Professionals in Foreign Policy) , further enhancing my engagement with climate solutions and global environmental networks. 🌎 Looking Ahead: 2024 reaffirmed the importance of community-led solutions in tackling global challenges. In 2025, I aim to amplify these efforts, drive inclusive initiatives, and strengthen youth advocacy for a sustainable future. #ClimateAction #COP29 #WaterSustainability #YouthLeadership #ClimateJustice #WomenAndClimate

During the intermission of today's pre-COP29 seminar arranged by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), the SEBs Pakistan team had the distinct privilege of meeting Mr. Wolfgang Hesse, Cluster Coordinator for Energy, Climate Change & Just Transition at GIZ Pakistan. We engaged in a highly insightful discussion centered around climate finance, the strategic importance of carbon markets, and the upcoming initiatives under GIZ Pakistan, in collaboration with European institutions, to enhance carbon market mechanisms in Pakistan. Mr. Hesse's expertise and forward-thinking approach provided us with a deeper understanding of the transformative role these projects will play in facilitating a low-carbon transition and strengthening Pakistan’s capacity for sustainable development. We are grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas and look forward to exploring potential avenues for collaboration between SEBs Pakistan and GIZ Pakistan, as we collectively strive to advance global climate goals. #ClimateFinance #CarbonMarkets #SEBsPakistan #GermanCooperation #GIZPakistan #SustainableDevelopment #ClimateAction #EnergyTransition #COP29 #LowCarbonEconomy #ClimateLeadership
