No pressure about census numbers, no rejection of my ideas. Some ideas worked, most failed—but that’s how I learned everything hands-on. 🙌 In any other facility, I would’ve been fired for those mistakes, but instead, I gained an education you can’t buy. Fast forward to today, and with the emergency calls I get daily from operators, it feels like I’m helping run hundreds of facilities at once. Many people have received the horrible news that the SCORF grant was not renewed to many companies and that meant the end of many jobs. Sad but it is a change that is required due to the decreased funding. the great part is many people were able to find themselves, help others, and find new career paths. I am one of those people. I found a great career and motivation. Unfortunately even with the current state of the last 2 major Hurricanes, no jobs are available. No jobs, no hope! I am looking for like-minded individuals who would like to create a network for Community Health Workers. This network would be for openings in the United States for Community Health Workers. A place to find employees during a major crisis to help with resources and funding would be provided by the local federal agencies. It’s interesting to see someone in an a Executive Director and director position making impactful decisions for a senior living community while already planning to leave the company. How can these choices reflect a long-term commitment to resident care and the community’s well-being when the person responsible won’t be around to see the effects? I believe decisions in senior living should prioritize the residents’ future, not just immediate needs or quick fixes. Thoughts?
