A #NWZAW message from Project Superintendent Phil Whitaker. Who's not only a Construction Worker, but someone's loved one. The vast majority of people killed in work zone crashes are motorists and their passengers. If there's one thing we can all agree on it's that we want our loved ones to make it home safely. Distracted driving is deadly. Please slow down, stay alert, and #WatchForUs. Work Zones are Temporary. Actions Behind the Wheel Can Last Forever. #WorkZoneSafety #RoadSafety #DistractedDriving #SlowDown #StayAlert #TuesdayTruth #WatchForUs #DriveSafe #Please #SafetyFirst #WorkZoneAwareness #DriveResponsibly #SafetyMatters #SafetyAwareness #SaveLives #ArriveAlive #BeSafe #DriveSmart #ConstructionSafety #WorkZoneHazards #ConstructionZone #BanksConstructionCompany

At Surerus Murphy Joint Venture, safety isn’t just about the work done on-site—it begins the moment we get in the vehicle. Transportation-related incidents are a leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry, particularly for those commuting to remote areas. Surerus Murphy emphasizes the importance of safe driving practices. In particular, we reinforce the caution required on rural and access roads. These roads require extra precaution as they often contain blind corners, potholes and are rural. It can be hard to see oncoming vehicles on rural and access roads due to limited visibility. By staying alert, taking breaks to combat fatigue, and planning extra time for travel, we help ensure that every journey is a safe one. Road safety is essential to keeping our teams safe every day. #Safety #SafeDriving #SurerusMurphy

🚨Road Safety Awareness🚨: The Dangers of Filming and Photographing Accident Scenes !!! **Understanding the Risks:** Accident scenes are inherently dangerous environments. While the immediate impact of the collision may have passed, numerous hazards remain that can pose significant risks to anyone in the vicinity. One of the critical issues is the tendency of road users to stop and take pictures or film the aftermath of an accident. This behavior not only jeopardizes their safety but also the safety of others on the road. 🔑Key Dangers: 1. ⚠️Ongoing Hazards⚠️ Debris and Fluids: Broken glass, sharp metal fragments, and spilled fluids such as oil or gasoline can cause injuries or explosion 💥 🚘Unstable Vehicles:** Vehicles involved in an accident may be unstable and can move unexpectedly, especially if they are partially off the road or have been significantly damaged. **Traffic Flow:** Stopping to take photos can disrupt traffic flow, increasing the risk of secondary accidents. 2. **Distraction:** **Driver Inattention:** Other drivers may become distracted by the scene and by people taking photos, leading to additional collisions or near-misses. Impairing Emergency Response Emergency responders need clear access to the scene. Onlookers can obstruct their work, delaying critical assistance to those in need. 3. **Personal Safety:** **Exposure to Danger:** Standing on or near a roadway to take pictures puts individuals at risk of being struck by passing vehicles. **Lack of Awareness:** Focused on capturing images, individuals may not notice other hazards around them, such as oncoming traffic or unstable ground. **Promoting Safer Behavior:** **Stay Clear of Accident Scenes:** Unless you are a trained responder or it is safe to offer assistance, stay away from the scene. Keep moving to avoid causing traffic disruptions. **Prioritize Safety:** If you are nearby, ensure your vehicle is safely parked off the road and you are in a safe location before attempting to assist. **Allow Emergency Personnel to Work:** 🚧Respect the barriers and instructions set by emergency responders. They are trained to handle the situation and need space to work efficiently. ⚠️**Raise Awareness:** Educate others about the dangers of stopping to film or take pictures at accident scenes. Encourage responsible behavior on the road. By understanding and respecting the dangers present at accident scenes, we can all contribute to a safer road environment for everyone. Prioritize safety over curiosity and always act responsibly when encountering an accident on the road. #roadsafety #safetyfirst
