They're there to guide you safely through the work zone. • Respect road crew flaggers. They're trained to facilitate safe traffic flow. • Stay alert and patient. The first step to implementing a safe system is to break down silos. I love hearing perspectives of people who work on traffic safety from different disciplines. It's so great to have Federal Highway Administration Administrator Shailen Bhatt share some wonderful insights at the Lifesavers Conference on Roadway Safety!

Our number one priority at Aleatica is safety. With an investment of more than 94 million euros over the last four years (2020-2024), we have implemented an Accident Reduction Program that helps prioritizing Aleatica’s road safety strategy. In addition, we have aligned our corporate efforts with the United Nations and WHO’s 2021-2030 Decade of Action for Road Safety, with the goal of reducing at least 50% road traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030. We are working across the seven countries in Latin America and Europe where we operate our transportation infrastructure to raise awareness regarding the importance of the Safe System Approach promoted by the Second Decade of United Nations Road Safety Action. This approach involves taking actions that establish safer infrastructure, the use of technology to improve vehicle safety, and changes in driver’s behaviour. Road safety requires that we all work as a team. We need to promote the right to safe mobility as a key aspect of public health that forms part of the agendas of companies in the transportation sector, governments and the civil society.
