"There's so much evidence of the value and the return that health centers bring. The Teaching Health Center program is more recent, but for the National Health Service Corps and the Health Center program specifically, we have decades of evidence of the impact -- clinically and economically,” Advocates for Community Health CEO Amanda Pears Kelly told Inside Health Policy on Wednesday (Nov. 20). “And so not only would it be ill-advised to somehow forget all of that, but the human harm that would come as a result of that is pretty massive.” ACH's statement on the Paragon Health Institute's Policy Brief was covered extensively in an interview with Inside Health Policy which was released today. Additionally, Pears Kelly said, "Ultimately, community health centers, the THCGME, and the NHSC are all programs that have historically garnered bipartisan support--and they should remain that way. That should be the focus -- coming together around them, not creating more division on something that is not in question and shouldn't be." A new report, created in partnership with the National Association of State Offices of Minority Health and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, addresses priorities and needs of island jurisdictions when establishing a health equity or minority health office, including scope, lessons learned on partnerships, and how to establish, structure, and fund a new office. It’s not a job it’s a way of life. It’s about advocating for all. It’s about being a solution for the ills of the world. It’s about lifting up while strengthening America’s landscape. With just a little federal funding, every dime is stretched and generating 6 times over. The person wins, the employee wins, the local economy wins, the state wins, and more significantly, the nation wins. These plans now cover 1 in 5 Californians! 🔍 Recent data shows a significant 10.4% enrollment increase in 2023, with 9.8 million members. This surge is largely attributed to continuous coverage policies during the COVID-19 emergency. 💰 Financially, these plans saw a $37 billion revenue in 2022, with a notable growth over the past two years.
