💡Our project addresses a crucial gap in waste management: decentralised material recovery approach using advanced robotic sorting systems! We know that the current material recovery systems in cities are heavily centralised in urban-focused areas, leaving out isolated and less-dense areas. Moreover, transportation of waste from rural areas comes with heavy transportation costs. Thus, our project enables the on-site, close-to-source recovery of recyclables from far-off areas, starting from the Greek Islands, where waste collection and management is severely lacking.
