Here a look behind the scenes at the incredible deep-fake-on-steroids tech used on "Here." What's every bit as mind-blowing as the de-aging is that the entire movie appears to be shot from a single camera angle! "Here" stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. According to the synopsis from Sony Pictures Entertainment: "The story covers the events of a single spot of land and its inhabitants spanning from the past to well into the future." Digging into it a little more, here's the synopsis of the original graphic novel by Richard McGuire on which the screenplay is based: "The first panel of "Here" shows an unadorned corner of a room in a house. The 35 panels that follow all show the location in space depicted in the first panel at different points in time, ranging from the year 500,957,406,073 BCE to the year 22,175 CE." And what's even cooler is all of this deep-fake transformation was visible live to the cast and crew through the viewfinder as they were filming. "The film uses a new generative artificial intelligence technology called Metaphysic Live to face-swap and de-age the actors in real time as they perform instead of using additional post-production processing methods."
