None of the Sustainable Development Goals can be achieved without the participation of young people. That's why meaningful youth engagement must become the norm rather than the exception. #OurCommonFuture depends on how well we let young people lead. #youthday #shiftthepower #sustainabledevelopment #InspireInclusion #Ignitethepower #EducationForAll #partnerships #youngadvocates

🌱 The Summit of the Future reinforces that achieving the SDGs requires active participation from local communities to enhance resilience. The successes of community foundations and local initiatives illustrate the power of grassroots engagement in addressing global challenges. The commitment of governments and international organizations to support local actions must be matched by the voices of community members. Encouraging public participation ensures that development priorities reflect local contexts, ultimately leading to more effective outcomes and greater resilience. As we foster collaboration between community foundations and local governments, let’s remember that the SDGs are a shared responsibility. Together, we can work toward a sustainable future that leaves no one behind and strengthens community resilience. #LocalEngagement #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityFoundations #SDGs #InclusiveDevelopment

Thank you for allowing me to join the recent webinar, "South-South and Triangular Cooperation Initiatives: Contributions to Social Justice." It was an enlightening experience to explore how collaborative efforts among developing countries can advance social justice. I learned about SSTC's impact in several key areas: - Education and Skills Development: Improving access to quality education and vocational training, and providing scholarships and exchange programs. - Economic Empowerment and Employment: Supporting youth entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and reducing economic disparities. - Youth Participation and Leadership: Empowering youth through leadership programs and policy advocacy platforms. - Health and Well-being: Enhancing access to health services and nutrition programs. - Social Inclusion and Rights: Promoting equality, legal, and social protection for marginalized youth. - Environmental Awareness and Action: Engaging youth in sustainability and creating green job opportunities. I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the conversation and engage with other participants. Your insights are crucial in our efforts to promote social justice and global development.#InternationalTrainingCentre #ILO #InternationalLabourOrganization #YouthAdvocacy

A crucial reflection for many countries, including my own, Portugal, as it occupies the lowest share of young MPs in its parliament, as by the sample of countries of the image. The underrepresentation of young people in parliaments limits the diversity of perspectives in policymaking, particularly on issues that disproportionately affect younger generations. In today’s world, there is no issue—be it climate change, housing, education, or digital transformation—that will not have a profound impact on youth. Portugal’s situation reflects broader global trends, but there is hope. It is time to reflect on how we can collectively lower barriers and encourage youth participation in politics to ensure more representativeness—not solely in terms of age, but also gender, sexual orientation, race, and other dimensions of diversity.
