Exciting news! As we all know, technology is constantly evolving and transforming the way we work and live. But have you ever thought about the impact it can have on those who have been previously incarcerated? I am delighted to share that our company has taken the initiative to support ex-offenders in utilizing technology to build their livelihoods. Through various programs and partnerships, we are providing access to training, resources, and opportunities for ex-offenders to develop skills in technology and digital literacy. This will not only empower them to secure employment and support their families but also contribute to reducing recidivism rates. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and we are committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce. By investing in the potential of ex-offenders, we are not only transforming individual lives but also contributing to the growth and success of our communities. Join us in this journey to make a meaningful impact and create positive change. Together, we can bridge the digital divide and provide opportunities for all. #TechForGood #SecondChance #InclusiveWorkforce #SocialImpact #smartpeace #cohesion

Only 0.09% of tech employees are reported to be non-binary, based on a sample of 89,000 tech employees at 235 organisations that recognise non-binary genders. Failure to recognise more than two genders in your company infrastructure is becoming an increasingly exposing way of signalling that non-binary folks in your organisation are, quite literally, not to be counted. Read our Diversity in Tech report, powered by BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, for the latest findings and suggestions for creating a diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem. https://hubs.la/Q02vyBz50 #TechDiversityMatters #DiversityAndInclusion #NonBinary

Tech conferences is an odd place for a child rights advocate to be in. I got no VCs to chase, no business to pedal, no technical know-how to contribute to conversations. But it's important to see how the future is shaping up, because that's the world our children will be in. It was a pleasant surprise to see Amazon CTO, Dr. Werner Vogels highlighting 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘺 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘯 on the main stage at #KL20 Summit. An AI that catches Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM). Innovating for child protection needs to be given more spotlight to inspire convergence like what's happening in the rest of the tech space. Regulation always trails behind innovation. And innovating for damage control often only comes when it start to hurt profits. While there's no stopping the wheels of progress from turning (and turning very fast!), can we please... 🔷 design with the "𝘕𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦" principal in mind 🔷 Include experts in social development be it for children, women, vulnerable communities in tech spaces - before, during, and after- innovation process 🔷 for funders to measure success beyond profit and value innovation that has comprehensively considered the product/service's long term social impact In my past life as a business journalist, I LOVE reporting on the start-up scene because of its energy- young, scrappy and hungry. I'm holding on to my seat for the next crazy idea coming out of ASEAN, fingers crossed we don't disappoint our grandkids! 🤞

At Ameelio, digital inclusion is a lifeline for incarcerated individuals seeking to stay connected with their loved ones and build a better future. Mac Hudson, who spent 33 years incarcerated in Massachusetts, knows this truth better than anyone. “The more that people on the outside, like family and friends, are involved in the incarcerated’s experience, it strengthens any type of rehabilitation,” Mac shared. During his time inside, staying connected to his family was incredibly difficult, but he recognized how vital those connections were to his own rehabilitation. Now, as a Community Liaison at Prisoners' Legal Services of Massachusetts, Mac is helping impacted justice-involved individuals and communities, saying, “Any type of technology that brings in family reunification, that strengthens and bolsters it, is a positive thing.” Mac’s story reminds us why the work we do matters. At Ameelio, we provide incarcerated individuals with devices, connectivity, and free access to communication tools—because we know that maintaining family bonds is a catalyst for personal growth and reentry success. As we celebrate Digital Inclusion Week, we remain committed to expanding digital access so that no one is left behind, especially those behind bars. #DigitalEquityNOW #DigitalInclusion #DIW2024 #TechForGood #CriminalJusticeReform

🌍 July 30th World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 🌍 Human trafficking affects millions globally, impacting people of all ages and genders. Trafficking is a complex issue with widespread societal implications. Here are a few key things I felt important to highlight today: 1. Types of Trafficking: From sex and labor trafficking to forced criminality, the spectrum of exploitation is vast. All ages and genders are affected, with increasing cases of forced labor and criminality across various industries. 2. The Financial Equality Gap: Economic instability and financial inequality significantly heighten vulnerability to trafficking. Those facing poverty and financial hardship are more susceptible to exploitation due to limited access to stable employment and resources. At AnnieCannons I am proud to be able to empower Survivors~ At AnnieCannons, we are dedicated to empowering survivors by providing technology skills and career opportunities, helping them as they rebuild their lives and regain independence. To each and every student that is part of our community Thank you for showing up for YOURSELF! Special thanks to the companies and partners who collaborate with us to provide essential tools, resources, and education. Your support is vital in helping survivors thrive in the workforce and beyond. Today, I am focusing on how emerging talent and apprenticeship programs can extend opportunities to survivors from non-traditional backgrounds in tech. 💻 What are you considering today to support the prevention of human trafficking? 👏 A Special Shout-Out 👏 💞 💙 To all the courageous survivors—high fives and hugs! You are true heroes! Your strength and perseverance are truly remarkable. To the incredible survivor leaders who are not only overcoming their own challenges but also leading the charge against trafficking—your courage and dedication inspire us all and drive meaningful change. A heartfelt thanks to the volunteers and advocates who walk alongside survivors, offering support and empowerment on their journey. Your commitment is invaluable and makes a significant impact. Together, we can make a difference. Let’s take action today to prevent trafficking and support those affected. #EndHumanTrafficking #WorldDayAgainstTrafficking #SupportSurvivors #TakeAction #Volunteer #WorldDayAgainstTraffickingInPersons #GlobalAwareness #AnnieCannons #SurvivorEmpowerment #TraffickingPrevention #Advocacy #FinancialEquality
