Faces come in all different shapes and sizes, so you must have respiratory protective equipment (RPE) properly fit tested to ensure protection from hazardous dusts, fibres, fumes, mists, vapours and gases including asbestos fibres and silica dust. If your workers are required to wear RPE to protect themselves at work then, SafeWork NSW Inspectors can request evidence of fit testing. Regulatory action can be taken against workplaces that do not comply. For more information and to watch the full video, visit: https://lnkd.in/gy-U664w #SafeWorkNSW #AsbestosAwareness #AsbestosSafety
NSW Government agencies are generally advised to avoid recommending specific private businesses to uphold principles of fairness, impartiality, and public trust. SafeWork is now recommending a private business (Resp Fit) run by an institute (Australian Institute of Occupational Hygenists) with a financial interest in Fit Testing. How can all businesses jump on this? Can I set up an 'Institute of Drug Testing' and recommend myself?
