One of my favorite things to do involves going beyond introducing a team to strengths and diving deeper by teaching how strengths can be applied and implemented in the workplace. Earlier this month, Cowan Consulting had the opportunity to work with the amazing team at Slingshot Memphis. We had a great energetic session full of activities, moments of reflection and conversations around how to actually use this information in the workplace. Everyone left, not only knowing more about their personal strengths and how they show up, but they also got to hear (and share), first hand, with their colleagues about their strengths and how they show up (see video). True change happens when there’s commitment and buy-in from everyone on the team to change. So we finished our session by allowing everyone to share what they need from each other to be their best at work. That commitment from everyone to be their best and not letting these conversations around strengths end here, is the key 🔑 I enjoyed this session just as much as they did! For the hawk-eyed observers... Everyone enjoyed our last team meeting so much, we discussed how we could bring more of that atmosphere and positive vibe into our work life. Rosh Chodesh breakfasts seemed like a good plan: they're easy enough to implement and the date (the beginning of each new month) is already decided. It seemed like everyone enjoyed the bagels and salads, and hey, it's a great way to start the day. But our main problem is space. We're just a little tight for room right now in our current workplace! 🤦♂️ Hence we set up the buffet in the adjacent _______! All you hawkeyed observers, where does this appear to be?
