Whether it’s financial matters, healthcare choices, or living arrangements, the Court steps in to ensure their best interests are upheld. If your loved one has not made a Power of Attorney, and lacks capacity to make decisions regarding their finances or health matters, it may be appropriate to apply to the Court of Protection to ask the Court to appoint you or someone else to be their deputy. This will allow you to act on their behalf in the same way that an attorney might.
