The dominant materials and finishes I used in the interior design of "Villa Meridian" are: - White-washed concrete - Rustic pine-grained wood - Beige natural Mediterranean stone - Brown rattan and white fabric Using naturally sourced materials for interior design is a sophisticated choice. These materials represent the earth, which is intrinsically connected to the Universe and Cosmic Energy, and therefore carry a high frequency. Incorporating high-frequency materials into our homes ensures that the interior space is constantly infused with positive, healing energies that benefit the well-being of its occupants. This principle highlights why living in environments dominated by "concrete" is often detrimental to both mental and physical health. Concrete is a highly processed material, and the more a material is processed, the more it loses its natural high-frequency energy. Similarly, over-applying lacquers on wood can strip away its natural properties, reducing its energetic benefits. A good practical advice is while building structures from concrete, it's essential to balance its energy by incorporating more natural materials and finishes into the exterior facade and interior design. This balance helps create a healing, harmonious living environment. Guy Ailion, partner at KSR Architects & Interior Designers outlines the inspiration and design considerations of two homes taking shape at Pearns Point… “We are currently working on two super villas; one is at an early concept stage that forms part of a cluster of buildings creating a private estate for one family. The estate comprises of multiple Villas, including a remote yoga studio, hidden beach cabanas, staff accommodation, and guest suites. It’s a romantic setting, nestled into the landscape with traditional island villa architecture. The principal home at the top of the site has long views of the sunset and leisure facilities that roll all the way down the hill to touch the beach front. “Our second property is nearing completion and it is an extremely unique layout, that takes 15,000 square foot and keeps it all on one level with no steps. Every one of the 5+ bedrooms and 4 guest bedrooms faces the beach with a unique view. Architecturally, the main villa is incredible – with openings created, and galleries to let the landscape and views into the house. It might sound surprising that an interior architect is involved in the initial construction phase, but in reality, it's indispensable! This phase is when the electrical and water installations are executed, and these tasks can't be completed without detailed execution plans for the entire space. These plans include custom-made furniture, lighting, water supply, and more. If you wondering what kind space it is, so it is ski locker and wine storage/tasting all together! Quite unusual as a space, but it makes total sense. This is a part of an entire chalet renovation project. I've found some 3Ds created for this specific space together with today's pictures from the site, these are almost like before and after, except that we should now wait some more months to see it real! #interior #design #project #chalet #mountain #construction

It is always nice the see the fruits of your labour. But as busy structural engineers we don't often get to see the end results of projects. By the time the interior designers have started their magic, we're already head-down on the next project. So when passing this particular project of ours I took the opportunity to stop and look in. The large leisure suite within the basement and four storey curved staircase, all designed and detailed in RC, will be something of dreams! I was quickly turned away and prohibited from entering site due to some privicy requirement from the Client.
