Summer Holidays for a corporate employee... . . Got a break for a week while I'm switching my job luckily that too in Summer. It felt like summer holidays to me. Instead of travelling I decided to stay at home and spend some time upon myself. *Stopped using Social Media- Instagram and Snapchat. *Did yoga for more time than regular time. *Started Boxing- Not to punch someone though. *Resumed old habit of reading books- For someone who is agnostic and trying to understand different religions in the world, Origin by Dan Brown would be a good one. *Got back to cycling- When I ride it after a long time, this seems more fun than bike. Was riding like 12-15kms a day and unknowingly I was singing- "Bole Jo Koyal Bagon mein!! " all the way. . . So Did I achieve anything out of this? Or will everything change from now on? Maybe nothing will happen. That's the point. In life everyone trains us to be something buy try to be nothing- it provides a space for something. People ask me "What did you learn by spending time in spiritual place? " I used to day "nothing"- Only those who understand the meaning of "nothing" can get it. In my experience 9to5 Job is not boring. It gave me freedom and gave me time for myself, and I got space to explore new things in life. I'm not utilizing it-That's a different story though😅 . . And this time I realized few things which I was doing wrong or things which are not required to be done in next job. One thing is, this time I want to be Silent - Back to basics. Want to pickup the character of "Talks only with eyes". Not sure if I can do it in corporate life. **********

It’s perfectly natural to enjoy time away from work. However, if the thought of returning to work after the Bank Holiday weekend is filling you with dread, then it’s time to do something about it. Take some time to think about: What do you want from your career? Review the list that you come up with and ask yourself: * Which of these things do you get from your current job? * Which of these things do you not get from your current job? * Can you get them from other areas of your life? Be objective. Does your current job give you enough of the things you want from your career? If not, what are you going to do about it? Before you know it, you will be wrapping up for your summer holiday, then it will be Christmas and another year will be gone in a blink of an eye. If your work is not making you happy, do something. Even taking the smallest step will make you feel like you are taking control.

Today marks my two-year anniversary in the corporate realm, and it has been a journey filled with valuable lessons and significant growth. At the start of my career, I was forced to resign from my high-paying first job. The desperation to get another job as quickly as possible got me an amazing opportunity but at a huge pay cut. (Not a sob story). This opportunity proved to be a stepping stone towards learning, work life balance and rebuilding my profile. After a rigorous year of learning and delivering targets, I grabbed the next best opportunity with open arms to grow at par with my skill set and qualifications. Contrary to the conventional idea of stability, 2 years and 3 companies later, I learnt a few more things apart from B2B Sales of course: 1. Your health, peace of mind and family time is a priority. Learn to establish work life balance. 2. Your qualification is not enough! You'll get good money and great opportunities if you have the right skill set with qualifications. 3. You need to believe in the company and their product/service to be able to work towards mutual success. Choose your company wisely. 4. Cannot emphasize enough on this- consistently build your skills and experience in a domain/ industry you feel confident, interested and passionate about. CTC will follow. 5. Have short term and long term goals to excel in your professional life and consciously work in the direction which leads to its attainment. I learnt and practiced it all in 2 years. Am I at a better place today compared to 2 years ago? Hell Yes! P.S. my career journal.

Working during the beautiful summer can be a huge bummer... we really get it. Summer is our busiest time! But it doesn't need to be a drag. Here's how to actually enjoy those hot summer workdays ☀️😎: 🌿 Start your workday with a few minutes outside making your to-do list 🚶♀️ Take walks to break up the day and give your brain a productive rest ☕ Work from air conditioned coffee shops or under umbrellas to keep it fresh and stay cool 🥤 Sip on fun cold summer drinks throughout the day (non-alc obviously...) 🎉 Plan fun activities for your team, even if they're virtual 🌅 Schedule fun activities or periods of rest after work so you actually shut your laptop down at a reasonable time 🏝️ Have at least one fun summer adventure on the horizon to look forward to (so you actually need to get your work done) Let's make this summer a breeze, shall we? 💨✨ What else would you add in here, fellow summer worker? #eeva #summer #workfromhome

Time flies. After summer holiday I have been working 2 years at Gofore. Before staring the summer holiday, I reflected, why I am so happy in my role at Gofore: 1. Great collegues. My favourite partner in crime is Malla Danska. We just finished the second project together and we just know how to get things to rock. Working with someone, who keeps on exceeding the expectations is just pure 💎 2. Great management. Antto Seppälä is the rockstar of our DA-crew! We have managers that understand that we do not need hand-holding at this point in our career. They understand we make right choices and support us. 3. Challenging and variating work. Working in different roles in different projects in different companies keeps on challenging and I get to learn of a lot of new things at work every day. 4. Great team at customer. I have had amazing luck in getting professional and wonderful people to work with! I have felt home working in the projects and assignments. 5. Freedom. I have freedom to choose the assignments. This is actually first time in my career I have had this much freedom. Though of course in current economical situation I might not have chosen to be as "picky" as usually, I have still always had the full option to decline or approve an assignment. 6. Being able to choose, when I work more. Hence I have the pleasure to use saldo hours for a long holiday e.g. in my upcoming 6 weeks summer holiday 7. No politics, stupid governance practices or waste of time from line organization. What could I wish more? Well, I have not figured out yet. Maybe a few more projects with my favorite colleagues! With this reflection I wish you all a wonderful summer!

Over the last few months my husband and I have been watching our kids working their asses off to get what they want - personal and in their careers. Some of the things they've been working so hard for are starting to come to life; marriages, families of their own, leads on their dream jobs and so much more. While I was walking around the house this morning tidying up I got to thinking... is there a job offer I would walk away from everything for? Here's what I'm thinking would make me take a leap of faith: 👉🏻a seat at the management table 👉🏻four day work week 👉🏻5 weeks holidays per year 👉🏻$100,000+ per year 👉🏻opportunity to travel but not consume my life 👉🏻opportunity to showcase my skills - problem solving, systems creation, long term strategy thinking, analysis of data, managing people and being part of team 👉🏻a company culture that is truly about its people 👉🏻recognition for hard work and work well done 👉🏻a place where they are tired of "always having done it this way" and are looking for people who are ready to question the status quo I'm not picky about industry or sector, I love to learn and I think jumping into something I know very little about would be fun. How about you? Do you have a job offer that would make you at least think twice about packing it all in and walking away and starting something new?
