With our 15th Anniversary Gala (Syracuse Oncenter, October 24th) fast approaching -- we're taking another opportunity to remind our friends & followers here on social media what we mean by the event theme: "The Promise Continues." As some may already know, Laurie Mezzalingua established Saint Agatha Foundation in 2004, not long after she was diagnosed with breast cancer (in 1997) -- and when she realized many breast cancer patients struggle to fight the illness AND pay bills stemming from that battle... Be it countless doctor appointments and co-pays, endless tests, treatment itself, or many other activities that arise from beating breast cancer. When Laurie left us in 2009 after a 12-year fight with the disease, our Foundation made a solemn promise to continue the work she'd began -- helping with the unmet financial needs of CNY's breast cancer patients. Since then, we've made good on that promise; statistics like the one here, which speaks to our growing list of exceptional partner-providers, is but one example. But we have more to accomplish, more we can do, and more breast cancer patients we can reach! In that light, we hope you will join us for our Gala at the end of October, to take stock in and celebrate this milestone. And to join us in recommitting to fulfilling our promise. Tickets and sponsorships are available right now! https://lnkd.in/gKTkY5qy #breastcancerawareness #breastcancersupport #breastcancerjourney #cnybreastcancer #syracuseny #breastcancerdetection #breastcancersurvivor #breastcancer CancerConnects, Inc. Breast Cancer Awareness Beyond October: The Fight Continues Every Day As October ends, it’s easy to shift focus from breast cancer awareness, but this cause doesn’t fit neatly into a single month. Breast cancer doesn’t have an off-season. Every day, individuals continue to battle against this life-altering diagnosis, and our support shouldn’t pause either. For every story of survival, there’s a story of resilience. Survivors are not only fighters; they are thrivers, embodying courage and strength through each step of their journey. They inspire us to never take our health or our lives for granted, and they remind us of the power of community, faith, and perseverance. For those who have gained their wings, we honor them as warriors who fought with all they had. They are heroes who have left behind a legacy of strength, reminding us of the importance of continued research, advocacy, and support. Let’s commit to keeping the spirit of October alive all year round. By remembering, praying for, and supporting those affected by breast cancer, we can collectively help to carry their legacy forward. Their journey isn’t just a fight—it’s an inspiration, and together, we can continue to raise awareness, fund research, and provide resources for those in need. #SurvivorsAreThrivers #WarriorsInOurHearts #BreastCancerAwarenessAllYear Conclusion: At Uplifting Unity Breast Cancer Foundation, we believe in unwavering support for those affected by breast cancer, not just in October, but every single day. Let’s stand together, remember together, and work together toward a future without breast cancer. www.uubcf.org
