Murua te reo! He wero mā tātou kātoa - tukua te reo kia rere! A key response to the policy agenda is the utilisation of te reo Māori in our engagement with central Government, the purpose of this is to: · demonstrate the value and demand for te reo Māori in real terms; and · create resourcing pressure on central Government policy agenda, particularly, agenda that will have a negative impact on Ngāruahine, Māori and Aotearoa. We are encouraging all Māori and Iwi entities, and speakers of te reo Māori to take up the challenge.
Toitū te reo Māori In the spirit of arohanui ki te tangata, we received a letter from Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Trust about the use of te reo Māori when engaging with central government. They acknowledge the impact this may have on their whanaunga in the public service. They point out that engaging in te reo Māori only is the Trust challenging the policy agenda, not their whanaunga. Te Korowai has released a position statement on the Government’s policy agenda which can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gQJP9QKu and on their planned response found here: https://lnkd.in/gdgkFz2G Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Trust’s planned response is based on aroha for te reo Māori and their iwi. They have asked that we share this message with our Rau Hihiri whānau. #whakaaroRangatira #whakatinanatangaotearohanui #Toitū

We tend to get caught up in trying to fix problems right away without taking a step back. 🦶 It's tempting to just swoop in and save the day 🦸🦸♂ But are you sure you want to -- can you be involved? Does the person want you to be? Diving into the thick of the problem can feel exciting 🔥, but sometimes our efforts can end up a bit... dry 💧. If you decide to tackle the issue head on... Remember the 5Ps: Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance. Before diving into solutions, consider these questions: 1. Problem Identification: • What exactly is the problem or opportunity for improvement? • How was the problem identified or recognized? • What are the symptoms or indicators of the problem? 2. Scope and Impact: • What is the scope of the problem (e.g., departments, processes, products)? • Who is affected by the problem, and how? • What are the potential consequences of not addressing this problem? 3. Root Cause Analysis: • What data or evidence supports the existence of the problem? • What are the potential root causes of the problem? • What tools (e.g., Fishbone diagram, 5 Whys) can be used to analyze the root causes? 4. Objectives and Goals: • What are the specific objectives we want to achieve by solving the problem? • What are the desired outcomes or improvements? • How will we measure success (e.g., key performance indicators, metrics)? 5. Stakeholder Involvement: • Who are the key stakeholders involved in or affected by the problem and potential solutions? • How should we involve and communicate with stakeholders? 6. Resources and Constraints: • What resources (e.g., time, budget, personnel) are available to address the problem? • What bottlenecks, constraints or limitations must be considered (e.g., regulatory, technical)? 7. Action Plan Development: • What specific actions or steps need to be taken to address the problem? • Who will be responsible for each action or task? • What is the timeline for implementing these actions? 8. Risk Assessment: • What are the potential risks associated with the planned actions? • How can these risks be mitigated or managed? 9. Monitoring and Evaluation: • How will we monitor progress during the implementation phase? • What will be the method and frequency of monitoring and reporting? 10. Lessons Learned: • What have we learned from similar past problems or projects? • How can these lessons be applied to the current situation? --- 💭 Inspiration Corner: “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” - Benjamin Franklin “段取り八分” “Dandori happun” “Planning is 80% of the work.” “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” - Abraham Lincoln -- ❓How do you ensure you take a step back to plan throughly before implementing solutions?
