Sajecki Planning Inc. ’s Post

We had our kick-off meeting yesterday with the City of Kitchener, Tate Economic Research Inc., and Metro Economics to commence work on the City's Growing Together East - Market Analysis Study. The project will provide recommendations to the policy and zoning framework in response to the unique attributes and specific needs of the Block Line, Fairway and Sportsworld Protected Major Transit Station Areas. While we recognize that the nature of employment is changing, these changes need to be considered when formulating policies that guide development over the longer term. We look forward to working with Divercities Advisory Inc. to bring an equity lens to the project, and working with the team at-large to optimize the non-residential function of these areas in the future. Few things have the ability to shape the form of our communities like higher order transit. Setting the right policy and regulatory framework to leverage this investment is critical.
