We failed Heaven, It feels like one of those nightmare-scripted horror movies I would want to avoid watching. But no Heaven was real. A tiny human with a beautiful soul and her life was brutally taken. I can't even begin to explain the amount of sharp pain my body and mind went through hearing the news. From the many posts on IG and FB I came to understand Heaven was not his first victim. Had we taken stronger measures sooner, Heaven would have been with us today. We failed sweet Heaven. We have failed in every aspect of social safety for women and children. I can only imagine the untold stories. Even more, It's deeply troubling that many men aren't actively involved in this movement. If they don't share our outrage and demand justice for Heaven and her mother, our future is bleak. We need men to raise their voices claiming this isn’t right. We need more men to sign the petition. We need more men changing their profile pictures to the current theme. We need more men to influence the legal system. We need more men to keep Heaven’s Mom safe. We need more men to raise their sons in respect to keeping women safe. We need more men involved in this movement if we seek change. We can't bring sweet Heaven back. But we can protect any one of us in line. Please please sign the petition. We demand immediate and stringent legislation, coupled with unwavering enforcement, to eradicate domestic violence and women's abuse in Ethiopia. This collective plea is for Heaven, whose tragic fate symbolizes countless others suffering silently, and for every woman who has endured this inhumane treatment. #Justice #GBV https://chng.it/XqdPw5fdnn

On this International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, we stand with Tigrayan women who have endured unimaginable suffering. The war in Tigray has seen a horrifying surge in sexual and gender-based violence, with thousands of women subjected to rape, mutilation, gang rape, and the insertion of foreign objects into their reproductive organs. These acts of violence are not merely collateral damage; they are weapons of war, intended to inflict lasting trauma and shatter the very fabric of their lives and the community. The psychological and physical scars of these horrific experiences will take years to heal. We must work collectively to create a safe space for these women, offering support as they navigate their healing journeys. We must also challenge and dismantle traditions and societal norms that perpetuate the stigma and retraumatize survivors. The world should not ignore the ongoing abuse and sexual violence inflicted upon Tigrayan women by the invading forces in the occupied lands. We call for international attention to this crisis, demanding accountability and justice for these heinous crimes. #ዕንክሊል_ወፅዓ_ይበተኽ #Breakthecycle #ይኾኖ

🔹 In the face of recent unrest and violence, I want to spotlight the glimmers of #unity and #compassion that have emerged. 🔹 Local communities have stepped up, offering tangible support to those targeted. These acts of solidarity demonstrate unequivocally that mob violence, hatred of migrants, and racism have NO place in OUR country. 🌏 🔹 We can always cling to the hopeful fantasy that politicians and media figures, who have effectively been fanning the flames of division (for decades) might someday pause to reflect on the damage their words have caused. But let’s be real: Expecting them to take responsibility is like waiting for pigs to fly. 🦄 🔹 The rest of us must name and understand the fascist violence fuelled by #racism, #disinformation, & Islamophobia to effectively combat it. 🔹 Meanwhile, the ongoing debate about social media platforms' responsibility is more critical than ever, especially as disinformation on sites like X and Telegram continues to incite unrest. 🔹 I highly recommend tuning into Patricia Clarke's latest episode of News Meeting on Tortoise Media where she delves into this issue, questioning the accountability of these platforms and their owners. 🔹 We desperately need swift legislation and controls on these digital Wild West saloons that have thrived far too long by hijacking our attention and sanity and being complicit with spreading #disinformation. 🔹 Instead of venting my visceral anger and frustration about the current situation (which would be as useful as a chocolate teapot), I’m choosing to follow the example of the sensible majority: welcoming, #compassionate, and staunchly opposed to far-right violence! 🔹 I delved into the coverage of Imam Adam Kelwick's remarkable gesture of shaking hands and offering food to protesters outside his mosque. 🔹 This act exemplifies strength and highlights the #transformative power of #listening and #understanding. While violent disorder gripped UK towns and cities, fuelled by false claims after the tragic death of three young girls, Imam Kelwick chose #dialogue over conflict, proving that #compassion can outshine chaos. 🔹 Most people prefer comforting lies over harsh truths, a trend we've seen for years. Yet, true progress springs from confronting those uncomfortable realities head-on. It's awareness, not perpetual negativity, that truly helps us to understand OUR world. ❤️ Let’s aim to be informed and compassionate, rejecting hatred and division in all their forms. #Compassionateleadership #Disinformation #ESG #DiversityAndInclusion #SocialResponsibility #TechAccountability #Unity #Compassion

Introduction (1) "On 17thNovember 1999, the world witnessed the public execution of a woman charged with husband murder, shot dead by the Taliban who, then, played the righter of wrongs in #Afghanistan. All the globally traumatized community could see and fear was the Taliban’s brutality as the live coverage of the event alarmed the world to the danger next door, i.e., terrorism; worries that were soon confirmed by the 9/11 attacks, just too years later. Only one individual, #AntonAntonowicz, the #DailyMirror reporter in London, was intrigued by the unknown identity and story of the executed woman behind the burqa. To know, the #truthseeker travelled to Afghanistan, looked for the woman’s place and talked to family, neighbors and all those who had known her. Today, thanks to #Antonowicz’s “alive” humanity and testimony, the world knows that “the faceless [and] nameless” (#ABC News, 2001) woman was called #Zarmina; that she was a mom of seven children, including one-year-old twins, whose weaning time meant their mom’s execution. Most shocking of all revelations, however, was that Zarmina never killed her husband! It was her daughter who did it as an irrational response to her father’s violence. The bottom line of the story is: contrary to #evil and lies which can easily destroy human life, seeking truth and finding it can equally give the victim belated #justice and metaphorically resuscitate the dead! This is the general purpose of the present thesis: to seek and find some truth behind #humansuffering, understand some of the hidden factors that cause it, and make a little contribution towards exploring, highlighting and assessing ways of its alleviation. #Individualcollectiveandintergenerationalpsychologicaltrauma is the wound that #ToniMorrison and #KhaledHosseini take issue with in their narrative texts, #GodHelptheChild (2015) and #AThousandSplendidSuns (2007), respectively. The present thesis will explore the impact of this double-sided trauma on the psychological and mental health of mothers and daughters, through the lens of #crime in the former, and #cowardice in the latter." Keywords: Psychological, intergenerational, & collective trauma; #childhoodtrauma; #ambivalentmotherhood; crime; cowardice; #ethical and #legal approach to trauma; #healingnarratives; #resilience.

Sign on to the open letter calling for an end to the mental health's field's complicity to Genocide (Palestine, Congo, and Sundan). Add a comment/record a personal message as to why this is important to you and amplify it. To my fellow Social Workers, this is about being true to our Social Work Code of ethics values. The writing is already on the wall. Weather or not a Genocide is being commited is no longer up for debate. Our code of ethics mandate that we are called to: Service, social justice, honor the dignity & worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. We cannot be agents of change, conduits of healing, and freedom fighters if we are intentionally remaing silent about the epitome of racsim and oppression: Genocide. Visit the link to read the letter and sign on. Take a look at all of agenices remaining silent and please join me and 6,750+ in reaching out to liscencing baords, educational boards, and other parts of agency to call for an immediate end in complicity. No one is free until we are all free. Collective liberation cannot happen in isolation. Palestine is just as deserving as other countries to be spoken up for when genocide is happening. #endMHcomplicity https://lnkd.in/gY2vs_uH or bit.ly/endcomplicity
