Non-Tolerant Society, What Will Became of It? To become a civilized member of society means to abide by the rules set by the government and society. To have an honor, values and ethical standards. To live in harmony among diverse race, religion and ethnic especially when you live in Indonesia with it's people having a various racial backgrounds and faiths. However is it truly attainable? Now I am here to tell you about an outrage. Caused by a certain culinary festivity in Solo Paragon Mall. How did such a recreation activity be the cause of a dispute? It is all started by DSKS or Dewan Syariah Kota Surakarta who filed a complaint to the local government and city sub-regional police Surakarta. According to them, this non halal culinary festivity caused the public to be restless as it was promoted in a large scale. It was known that majority of Indonesia are Islam by religion. But why should the festivity be a problem? It was publicly promoted as non-halal with Festival Kuliner Pecinaan Nusantara as the title in a big billboard. No Muslim person could possibly mistaken it as Muslim-friendly. It should be noted that similar activities was held around the country and there was zero problem around it. There was a toleration among the society. However if the society is no longer tolerant, what will became of it? #society #religion #writing #English #solo #festivalkuliner

think Singapore is boring? by April Zara Chua an excellent piece by Chua trying to breath life to the boring Singaporean. The rise of the swifties and the excitement of the festivities around the ERAS tour maybe the exception that proofs the rule. We are a bunch of boring people. I want to focus on the rise of Scratch First, Creators of Wonderfruit and Tomorrowland as the next stage on youth entertainment. Plenty of buzz in Thailand that Tomorrowland is looking for a location for an annual Music Festival Bash. Unlike other festivals, this one is humongous. 80 full time employees 15,000 employees per event up to 70,000 visitors per event. some events are 3 to 4 days of music, dancing and amber fluid. the Singapore Swift event garnered plenty of attention and plenty of envy. So nearby cities are staging a set of revenge events. And I believe that Tomorrowland will set the stage. Pattaya and Phuket already have the vacant rooms needed floor area arenas equipment hospitals for affects of after parties. Thailand has it all. so get ready for a big announcement from the likes of Tomorrowland and see what competition both Thailand and Indonesia can bring to Singapore. I think ultimately, the markets will clearly segment and Singapore will take the big names like Beyonce and Rihanna and Thailand will take the dance festivals and techno pop events. Speculation abound about recce sites in Phuket nearby Baba Beach Club Hua Hin (we are refering to the one in Takua Thung District aka Natai Beach) I am in Phuket monthly to recce the best sites for hotels, beach clubs and dance festivals North of the Sararin Bridge including a possible RIU Hotels & Resorts planning an announcement soon for a big Phuket property (currently hush hush) If you need a presence in the best holiday destination in Asia, Phuket, give me a call at +66816165987, tell me your requirement and I will do the needful.

While everyone is criticizing Singapore for the methods it used to surpass all its neighbors in Southeast Asia in organizing concerts for superstar Miss Swift, I would like to point out that these strategies are indeed effective ways of attracting money to the country.🤘 We are in a market economy. Why doesn't anyone acknowledge how impressive it is that Singapore has (paid 😈) managed to bring in $500 million to the country's economy just by hosting six superstar concerts? That's incredibly awesome!👏 E.g., Malaysia could do the same in Langkawi, the Philippines in Boracay, or Indonesia in Bali. Can you imagine how big might be an impact for such an islands? 🚀🚀🚀 https://lnkd.in/gGKU6hMP

I queued 3 hours online last July for the Taylor Swift concert tickets. This was for my daughter who's a Swiftie. It was to no avail as tickets sold out way before it was my turn to buy. There were anecdotal stories that queue numbers with foreign IP addresses were given priority. Klook offered an Experience Package that bundled concert tickets with a local hotel stay. So I was not surprised that the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) confirmed it had provided a grant for staging the concerts in Singapore. Unlike some events that face demand risk (e.g. in sports), concerts by popular artistes are commercially viable on their own. Thus, it's plausible that STB's funding was tied to regional exclusivity as a quid pro quo to drive inbound tourism. It's likely that in the months and years ahead, regional tourism authorities will copy STB's strategy. The next Eras tour could very well be staged in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur, exclusively. Southeast Asia can end up in a zero sum game situation whereby cities pay to win some lose some, and it's really the artistes who benefit from the state-funded largesse. An alternative model is for the region to work together to host more concerts in a few cities, e.g. instead of six concerts in Singapore, there could be twelve concerts spread evenly across Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. This way, each city pays less and we don't end up alienating our neighbours by flaunting the size of our wallets. The carbon footprint will be lower too because it's only the artiste and supporting cast that travel to meet the fans in their hometowns as compared to tens of thousands of fans flying to a single city. #sustainabletourism #majorevents #sustainability
