Everyone experiences loneliness from time to time. It’s normal and completely natural. But we don’t talk about it well. As a consequence, we don’t know how to respond to our own loneliness or when others around us experience loneliness. We wait until we know exactly how we can talk about it until we talk about it - especially in our workplaces. This feeds loneliness and compounds the issue. Your organization suffers, because the humans within it suffer. The answer is in being courageous and talking openly about loneliness. It starts with empowering ourselves and each other to own it. It starts with understanding how it affects us. The answer is in engaging the Creating Connected Workplaces service. This service combines the powerful wisdom and insights of loneliness from Phil McAuliffe and the Humans: Connecting team with the world-leading data-driven approach led by Dr Hans Rocha IJzerman and his team at Annecy Behavioral Science Lab. We’re here to help you create a workplace that flourishes because the humans within it feel connected. We know that loneliness can be horrible and we know that it's present wherever humans are: in our homes, in our workplaces, in our communities. Despite this knowledge, it can be tough to know how to talk about loneliness in a way that connects with the humans who experience it (which is everyone from time-to-time) - especially in our workplaces. What words do you use? What's safe to say? What can be upsetting? Will there be some kind of terrible genie of perpetual negativity and gloom released from a bottle that will ruin our workplace? While there's an understanding of the need to address loneliness and promote genuine human connection, the fear of doing it wrong is real. Enter our Creating Connected Workplaces. It's a ground-breaking service that we at Humans: Connecting deliver with our partners at Annecy Behavioral Science Lab. Creating Connected Workplaces brings together the power of empathy through powerful stories that empower and inspire humans with world-leading human connection science. The result: your organization becomes and stays a place that flourishes because the humans within it thrive. Details of the service and how you can book your initial call with me and Dr Hans Rocha IJzerman are here: https://lnkd.in/gG5z32su We're meant to connect. #humansconnecting #absl #humanconnection #loneliness #lonely #workplaceloneliness #socialhealth #leadership

🌟 Shedding Light on Endometriosis in the Workplace 🌟 Navigating the workplace with endometriosis can present unique challenges, and as someone who also grapples with this condition, I understand firsthand the impact it can have on daily life and career aspirations. Endometriosis is a chronic and often debilitating condition affecting millions of individuals worldwide, it involves the growth of tissue similar to the lining of the uterus outside the uterus. Its symptoms, including pelvic pain, fatigue, and irregular periods, can vary widely and significantly disrupt work routines and productivity. Here's why raising awareness about endometriosis in the workplace is crucial: 🌟 Advocating for accommodations: Many individuals with endometriosis require accommodations such as flexible work hours, remote work options, or access to quiet spaces during flare-ups. By fostering an environment of understanding and support, workplaces can empower employees to thrive despite their health challenges. 🌟 Addressing stigma and misconceptions: Endometriosis is often misunderstood or dismissed as "just menstrual pain," leading to stigma and disbelief. By promoting education and open dialogue, workplaces can combat stigma and create a more inclusive environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing their health needs. 🌟 Supporting mental health: Living with a chronic illness like endometriosis can take a toll on mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, and feelings of isolation. Cultivating a workplace culture that prioritizes mental well-being and offers resources such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) can make a significant difference in supporting employees' overall health and productivity. 🌟 Fostering empathy and compassion: By fostering empathy and compassion towards colleagues with endometriosis, workplaces can cultivate a culture of care and solidarity, where individuals feel valued and supported irrespective of their health challenges. As we strive to create more inclusive and supportive workplaces, let's continue to raise awareness about endometriosis and advocate for policies and practices that accommodate the unique needs of individuals living with chronic illnesses. Together, we can build workplaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to thrive. 💼💪 🌟 #Endometriosis #ChronicIllness #WorkplaceWellness #Inclusion #Empathy #Awareness #Support #WomeninWorkplace #WomenEmpowerment #EmpoweringWomen

Adverse Work Experiences Are Stealing Years from Our Lives—It’s Time to Act We know that household, community, and childhood adversities are linked to poor health outcomes and shortened life expectancy. But what about the workplace? Adverse work experiences, like toxic cultures, chronic stress, and trauma, can also take a significant toll on our health—sometimes even stealing years from our lives. The very thing meant to improve our quality of life shouldn’t be causing harm. It doesn’t have to be this way. Workplaces can—and should—be sources of healing, empowerment, and growth. By embedding trauma-informed practices, fostering psychological safety, and prioritizing employee well-being, we can rewrite this narrative. Check out this insightful post by Nicole DeKay on Adverse Work Experiences (AWEs) to dive deeper: https://lnkd.in/eNm4Hby7. It’s time to create workplaces that prioritize humanity.
