🔊 Let me invite you to read something about me. 🔍 My journey in the AV industry began with getting acquainted with the warehouse, where I started as a warehouse worker. Initially, it was a great experience for me, as it allowed me to get in touch with every single thing we use. I learned not only how to make things but also how to understand and use them. Later, I was promoted to warehouse manager and took care of both my colleagues and the entire warehouse operation. Over time, I had the opportunity to experience my first event as an installation assistant, and this day marked the start of a new phase in my life that continues to this day. After the first event, there was another and another, and I became increasingly interested and entertained by it. Later, I had the opportunity to take a height safety course, which I added to my work activities. Time, experience, and the number of successful events I have worked on have transformed me into an experienced lead technician who was not afraid of any challenge. I learned to easily manage the organization of people and the basics of event management. My goal, my studied field, and my dream job is sales and project management - this is where I have climbed from the very bottom and now I am firmly pursuing what I am so passionate about. I am ready for any opportunity that comes my way. I am ready for any event that awaits me and I will be able to leave behind the best I can do. I am a young blood in the AV business, always ready and open to new opportunities. Chances are you are hiring production professionals who are faking it. This is just facts. Most up and coming in the regional markets weren't trained, weren't brought up on set, or in a production office. Production isn't easy... well unless your creative is weak and you have a big budget, then its impossible not to screw it up. And many have figured out, hire a good DP, say yes to everything and "you too can be an exec producer or even a director!" I'll leave you with this. In Wherespot FB group this past week this was a post: A client wants to hire me to produce a few commercial spots in Houston. The project requires Talent, Director, DP, key grip with gear, and multiple locations, so maybe a location scout. So my question is, what is the person called to put all these pieces together? Would that be the Production Manager? I am looking for a person in Houston who can help me put all these assets together and give me price points for these individuals. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sigh... this was not satire. This person was being hired to "produce" for a client, and literally asked for help "producing" the job without knowing what he was being asked to do or how.

Producing on location can be a thrilling challenge, and the key for a great shoot lies in the pre-production. A clear idea of what you want to accomplish, a well-written script, talent come first. Then, you have to assemble an A-team - camera operators are just the tip of the iceberg, you need all of the crew members and PA's working in sync to make that piece of floating ice sparkle as the sun hits it just right. And, of course, acquiring the gear - all of the equipment needed to say "lights, camera, action." But what about logistics? Without detailed planning of the where, what, and how, even the smallest of productions will fall apart. Organization, permits, transportation, catering - these unglamorous components are crucial. Last, but not least, safety should always be at the forefront of planning. If you are wondering about that person hanging from the crane, that was a reality competition contestant. The idea was to take a picture in that split-second after release before falling onto that airbag below. Safety took priority above everything else on that day. Believe me, that day was a blast for everyone! With the right preparation, shooting on location can be exhilarating. Oh yeah, there are also weather contingency plans! Well...that's a topic for another day. #producerlife #production #contentcreation #lookingforjob #stunts #conceptdesign #marketingandadvertising

You Better Recognize! A talented supervisor or manager is astute enough to understand that an employee is not defined by his or her job title/description. I once worked at a film production company where I was promoted three times in six months. I started out answering phones and making coffee and was soon the Visual Effects Coordinator for the biggest budget IMAX film to that date. Why? Because the producer (who went on to found RealD 3-D) could see that my skills of working hard, doing things quickly and always saying ‘yes’ to what I was asked would translate into the 60+ hours per week on a film set. How could a ‘receptionist’ become an integral part of a multi-million dollar production? How could a production assistant for a home shopping network become the Operations Director of the network in less than a year? Yep… same guy. Thanks to supervisors, managers, executives and corporate presidents who could all assess talent and not be confined by a title. So, hiring managers… take a closer look at that resume from the person that doesn’t have the exact qualifications or job title you’re looking for. Dig deeper. Look for qualities, talents and skills rather than a direct 1:1 correlation. A more well-rounded candidate might just be available.

We are currently assisting a film location search in the Greater Toronto Area for an international streaming service production. The search is for an industrial space that resembles a "meat processing plant". The request is to film for 3-5 days between the end of April and end of May 2024. The production will dress the space to make it appear to be a meat process plant as long as it has some existing infrastructure i.e. assembly lines with conveyor belts or moving ‘hook’ lines (i.e. dry cleaner style). We know the search is unique...but sharing this out to the commercial/industrial industry followers that may have an industrial space vacant and ready for some sort term ancillary revenue for the asset. #AncillaryRevenue #FilmLocationManagement #SpecialtyLeasing

I really like the simplicity of this ad. And yes, many tech people might ask, couldn't this have been done using the same motion control robot on a simple sound stage and just rotoscope the vans? Yes, but here it's already done, and the client/agency can see what they're getting as it's being shot, not trying to imagine what it will look like post, post. Plus, the reflections in the vans connect it to the background. And hey, you get to work on the largest LED Volume Screen in the world! #madethis #mercedes
