The Indian Flag, a symbol of our nation’s pride and unity, has a rich history that reflects the journey of India's struggle for independence and its evolution as a democratic republic. The journey began in 1906 when the first version of the flag was hoisted in Kolkata. This flag featured three horizontal stripes—green, yellow, and red—representing the country's diversity and unity. In 1921, Mahatma Gandhi proposed a new flag, which included the spinning wheel (charkha) as a symbol of India’s self-reliance and the struggle for freedom. The colors were changed to represent different communities—saffron for Hindus, green for Muslims, and white as a symbol of peace. Finally, on July 22, 1947, the Constituent Assembly adopted the current tricolor. The saffron stands for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth, and green for faith and chivalry. The Ashoka Chakra in the center, with 24 spokes, represents the eternal wheel of law. As we look up at our flag today, let’s remember the sacrifices and the values it represents—freedom, unity, and justice. The Indian Flag is not just a symbol, but a living testament to our nation's enduring spirit. #IndianFlag #Independence #India #History #UnityInDiversity

Happy Independence Day to all! As we celebrate 78 years of independence, let us take a moment to reflect on what it truly means to be Indian. Our strength lies in our unity, in embracing our diverse identities, and in honoring the legacy of our shared history. Let us rise above the divisions of States, regions, languages, and castes. Let us recognize that we are first and foremost Indians, bound by the ideals of our Constitution and the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom. In these times of global uncertainty, it is crucial to remember that our hard-earned freedom is not just a gift but a responsibility. It is preserved every single day by our brave defense forces, who stand as sentinels at our borders, ensuring that we live in peace and security. We have indeed come a long way, but the journey is far from over. Incidents like those at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital must be addressed with strictness and justice, without any bias. Reduction in crimes is a must for our country to progress. Together, let us continue to build an India that is strong, inclusive, and true to its values. Let us break free from political divides and work towards the vision of a united and prosperous nation. This freedom has come at a cost, let us value and respect it. Jai Hind! #IndependencedayIndia #Indiaat78 #Unityindiversity #womensafety #ProudIndian #Indianfreedom #Respectourforces #Indiafirst #jaihind
