XfE - We're not just a product, we're people and we're your partner 🤝 The past couple of weeks have been exceptionally busy for us here at XfE, but we've tackled it heads on, and we're now coming out of the other side in a far healthier state. Whilst we need to pay tribute to the software we use and the software we have developed, it's critical for us to remember WHY we do what we do. Our purpose has always been to make people's lives better and easier, and there's a fair few examples of this in the past few weeks: ❌ We have discussed with a prospect WHY their requirements will NOT be a good match with our system (fear not everybody, this was a very unique set of circumstances!) 📋 We have helped a number of trusts UNDERSTAND their figures and outlined WHY things migrated from their legacy system are different to their annual accounts - definitely a value add but all part of the service and they were delighted - "I have never understood the accounts but this hour has helped me so much" 📊 Fathom has been implemented at several Trusts and they are benefitting, or very shortly will benefit, from the fantastic reporting templates we are setting up 💥 We have been working very closely with a Local Authority to set up a plan, and execute, the rollout of XfE to all of their 20 schools - we've already saved 2 days a month for the LA on some reporting too! 🤐 We're currently building out 2 more integrations to XfE to Specific Budget Solutions and hopefully these will IMPress everybody - read between the lines folks! I'll be sharing my story next week on how one of our clients is helping me personally, and this has really shone a light on the WHY we do what we do! I enjoy it when the accounting community thinks they are in the middle of a serial drama plot! May's episode whipped up by Xero's announcement of their subscription plan changes. If you are an accountant that doesn't see Xero's value then you probably aren't the right fit for it and that's absolutely fine, there will be something more suitable for you out there. Xero can't be everything to everyone and they probably don't want to be. For me personally, whilst I don't believe there is one solution that fits all, I do find that my clients investing in Xero saves them time, money and headaches in the long run. If I put a pound of the cost to each minute they save I quickly run out of pounds and the minutes keep building. And that's without thinking of the value the cost adds to the business in terms of giving the ability to strengthen cash flow, enhance profit and enable better decision making. £30-£50 is insignificant to what the return on investment can be IF you use the software to its full potential. I consider Cottons Group relationship with Xero to be a partnership and I'm glad to see our partner moving forward and having positive strategy. Who wants a partner that sits still and doesn't take opportunities?! It's certainly not what we would advise a client to do. Fancy a share of £77bn? No brainer, right? Back in Oct 2023 Xero did a study* looking at digitalisation in the small end of SME's (Yanno... us). Their study showed that us small biz owners are behind the curve on bringing digital tools into our businesses, so we're leaving soooo much money on the table. The study said: "If small businesses had digitalised at the rate of the top 20% of innovators, their collective revenue would have risen by £77.3 billion and an additional 885,000 jobs would have been created." £77.3 billion. Dunno about you, but I'd be happy with 0.0001% of that. 🤷♀️ When I heard this, I thought that I needed to spread awareness and make it my life's work to change this statistic. Ok, that's a lie. I thought, how can I use this to market my services? 😂 In all seriousness, you know I've been banging the drum about biz owners taking back control of their numbers, and using software like Xero** is a really simple way to start doing this (and it frees up time and makes your accountant happier). So now I've got backup on this, in the form of an actual study. And you know my training and setup package is a really easy way to get started using accounting software in your business.
