Years ago, before online shopping, my husband and I went out to a major retailer at 5 am on Black Friday to get a laptop for our daughter. I was never so afraid in my life! We never got the laptop, but I didn't care. I was just glad to get out of there alive! I know people who love this shopping day. How to use your intuition this week: Holidays can bring forth rituals, foods, people, and experiences that might feel more like obligation than authenticity. Before saying yes to ANY substance, invitation, or food on Thanksgiving, what if you took a breath and noticed if your body feels expansive and light (that usually means "YES") or contracted and tight (that usually means "NO.") The endless Black Friday sales and offers that you're receiving might sound logically like a “good deal” while intuitively you know you likely wouldn't buy the item or experience otherwise. What if you did a similar practice before making a purchase, and took a breath before checkout - noticing whether it feels light and expansive to buy (a "YES") or tense and slightly uncomfortable (a "NO.)
