Just one part of the strange journey of bodybuilding competition is shaving. You notice things about your body you wouldn’t otherwise notice. I guess that’s the point. For me, it's different. The first thing I notice is my scars. Normally hidden under my leg hair or arm hair, my scars jump out at me - the self-inflicted scars of my youth. 𝐘𝐞𝐬, 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐨, 𝐈 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 “𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫” 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬. It’s hard to explain what it feels like. Sometimes you see a kid with the same scars and don’t know what to think. It’s shocking. Not something I’m proud of, but it’s a part of my story. I know exactly what those kids feel like. 99% of the time I don’t see it, but in the moments I arguably ‘look’ my best, I’m reminded of what I’ve been through. What I put myself through. My morning movement habit! I’ve done this sequence almost every morning for 4 years (usually in my own bedroom, but today on my terrace in Paris) after I wake up, pee, and brush my teeth. I started it to help keep my calves from getting tight, keep my back from hurting, and to maintain my push-up strength. Sometimes it’s so subconscious now that I catch myself mid-way thru having no recollection of what I just did. Here’s the routine: - Massage stick all sides of claves & thighs 10x ea - Forearm stretch 5 breaths (same length for all below) - Cat cow - Tail wags - T-spine rotations - 3D child’s pose - Cobra - Down dog + heel pedals - 3D kneeling quad / hip flexor stretch - 3D 1/2 kneeling quad / hip flexor stretch - Hand plank - Pushups 14x - Forward fold walk up 7 breaths - Backward shoulder rolls 5 - Upper trap stretch 5 breaths ea (same below) - Hands behind head chest opener - Levator scapulae stretch - Neck circles 1 ea way - Wall chest opener 5 breaths ea Give it a try and let me know what you think! High quality shoes = low quality feet. This is a problem in modern society. We wear overly supportive shoes, we don't spend a lot of time barefoot, and over time all of our intrinsic foot muscles become very weak, which usually leads to problems and dysfunction in this area. People struggle with stiff toes, weak feet, plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains, turf toe, etc. We can greatly improve these issues through specific mobility training. #footmobility #movefortomorrow #fitnessmotivation #yogaeast17 #taylormadeyogalondon

Here are few advantages of this variation ⬇️ 📌 Due to the rotation of the arms and elbows in front of you, you get much bigger range of motion 👍🏻 📌 This variation emphasises proper form as it doesn’t allow you to shrug or round your back 👍🏻 📌 Your rear delts also get a nice lil workout in 👍🏻 ➡️ SETUP ⬇️ Place your hands on the bar with underhand grip and wider than shoulders apart ⏩️ stick your chest out, shoulders back and your core engaged ⏩️ focus on driving the elbows down and pull the bar to your chest. I used to pull that top forward to get more chest lines Or send it back to try and show my non existent traps for photos 😅 I used to think those scoop neck tops might make me look muscular.. I was forever readjusting it, or folding the arms up to try and improve my physique appearance. We all do these things to make ourselves feel a little better about our current shape. Pulling your top forward, Holding something in a photo, hands in front of you. Even hiding behind kids. Or maybe not being in a photo altogether. It's a means to an end, but it'll never beat doing the work and having the real thing. It's a night and day difference, and it works way better than adjusting the way you stand or moving your clothing every five minutes. & it gives you something that you can't get anywhere else.
