Season’s greetings! This year Sampo’s Christmas donation goes to the Disaster Relief Fund of the Finnish Red Cross. The Disaster Relief Fund channels funds to helping people affected by natural disasters and conflicts worldwide. The Red Cross delivers humanitarian aid in the form of food, clean water and shelter for those in need. In addition, it trains volunteers, distributes cash grants and delivers field hospitals to crisis areas. - This Christmas Sampo wants to do its part in helping people in the worst disaster areas all over the world. One of the themes of our sustainability programme is People and Communities and we aim to promote health, safety, and well-being. The Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund’s operations support this goal well, says Johanna Tynkkynen, Head of Sustainability at Sampo. Read more at https://lnkd.in/dU5p3xEK #sampoplc #christmasdonation

The Philippines frequently faces typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and floods, which pose significant challenges to the well-being of our people. The most vulnerable individuals—farmers, fisherfolk, micro-business owners, and those reliant on the informal economy—often require months or even years to fully recover from disasters, as they typically have little savings and limited access to capital. The Philippine Relief and Development Services, Inc. (PHILRADS) raises funds on CharityPhilippines.org that enable it to offer disaster survivors both capital and training for transitional livelihood as they work toward recovering from a calamity. Families assisted by the Project Joseph Post-Disaster Livelihood Assistance and Recovery program are able to take steps forward after a disaster. *Devastating Floods Ravage Brazil: Rio Grande do Sul State Needs Our Help* Hey everyone, I want to raise awareness about a heartbreaking humanitarian crisis unfolding in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Since late April, the region has been battered by relentless rains, receiving the amount of rainfall expected for an entire year in just 10 days. This has triggered some of the worst flooding the region has experienced in over 80 years. * The Scale of the Disaster: - Imagine a state about a third the size of Texas or a country almost the size of Italy being pounded by a year's worth of rain in less than two weeks. - Nearly 300 of the state's 497 cities are flooded or under emergency situations. - Over a million people lack access to clean water. * The Human Cost: Tragically, dozens of lives have been lost, and many more are still missing. Thousands of Brazilians have been displaced from their homes, their lives completely upended by this disaster. * Widespread Destruction: Floodwaters have decimated homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure like roads, bridges, and power lines. Entire communities are underwater, leaving people isolated and in urgent need of assistance. * How We Can Help The Brazilian government is working tirelessly to provide rescue and relief, but the devastation is overwhelming. Rio Grande do Sul desperately needs international support. Donate: If you're able, please consider donating to trusted relief efforts specifically focused on the Rio Grande do Sul floods: - For donations in dollars - USD, please go to https://lnkd.in/emyryUsp - For donations in british pounds - GBP, please go to https://lnkd.in/eAME3Kw5 - For donations in euro - EUR, please go to https://lnkd.in/euybba2g * Learn More: For further details about a major Brazilian fundraising campaign for flood relief, visit https://lnkd.in/e85bU9Qm. Hi Amit, This is Abhilash. 25,000/- of my stolen amount by amazon.in might have been credited in your bank account as your salary for the month of march. Please check it and refund my money to me. I've tried everything with your so-called customer service team, but nothing works out. It's easy for them to disconnect my call while I insist on addressing my issue. As a consumer, what options do we have left but to escalate matters to the top executives of the company? It's your responsibility too, to address our issues. I will have to follow you in these social media platforms till my issue is resolved. Anyone facing the similar issue as me with amazon.in let's unite and fight together. I can see lot of comments here addressing your issues. Perhaps we can create a page dedicated solely to issues with Amazon services and raise our voices together.
My heart goes out to all those affected by the devastating floods in Brazil. We’ve mobilized our global disaster relief program, which uses our logistical and technological resources to provide help to impacted communities. Our teams are working on the ground with humanitarian aid organisations to deliver critical supplies – food, water filters, hygiene kits, and blankets – directly to families in need. We have also activated a donation campaign with three NGOs through GIVEHUB (https://bit.ly/4blgjQE). This campaign allows our employees in Brazil and around the world to offer voluntary support for the relief efforts. We continue to monitor the situation and are in touch with local organisations to assess their needs and see how we can support them in this unprecedented time. #Brazil #Floods #DisasterRelief #Donation https://lnkd.in/gvdvzQws

Last year, the quiet of a November night in West Rukum was shattered by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake. In moments, lives and livelihoods were devastated, leaving thousands vulnerable. But amidst this chaos, the strength and resilience of the community, supported by INF Australia, shone through. INF Nepal and our partners mobilised quickly, delivering emergency supplies and support to the affected families within hours. Our fast-response disaster recovery teams, equipped with supplies from strategically placed warehouses, were crucial in these efforts. Support from our donors in Australia was immediate and impactful. Contributions enabled us to provide essential items like food, warm clothing, and maternal health packs, which were life-saving for many, especially as the cold winter threatened further harm. As we look to the future, our focus is on enhancing the resilience of these communities. We are working to ensure they are better prepared for such events, with training in disaster readiness, building earthquake-resistant homes, and supporting the recovery of livelihoods. This tax-time, your support can help us continue this vital work. Together, we can help communities not only survive but thrive after disasters. Donate now and stand with us in building resilience: go to inf.org.au/donate-now #ResilienceForAll #DisasterResponse #ClimateAction #INFaustralia

#GivingTuesday #ApolloActs I am grateful for the gift I received from Apollo Global Management, Inc. which I am donating to Support the People of Spain After Deadly Flooding Flash flooding has devastated towns and cities across eastern and southern Spain, including the city of Valencia. Deadly storms on Tuesday and Wednesday delivered a year’s worth of rain in less than 8 hours. More than 200 people were killed. There is widespread damage to infrastructure, including power lines, railways and bridges. Reports describe streets turning into rivers in a matter of hours. The Spanish government has declared three days of mourning. We can help the people of Spain by supporting causes providing crisis and disaster relief. Cruz Roja Española (Spanish Red Cross) are on the ground and responding in Valencia and other affected areas. Asociación Valenciana de Caridad are providing food and shelter. Both organisations are working to assist those affected by the flooding. - Cruz Roja Española: Offering an immediate and urgent response and providing specialized, emergency help to those affected by the situation. - Asociación Valenciana de Caridad: Serving the people of Valencia, including the homeless and those at risk of social exclusion.

Every day at Power Factors, we FIGHT climate change with CODE. However, we also recognize that around the world, as we strive to make a difference, humanity continues to be affected by changing weather patterns and climate-related disasters. As we close out 2024, Power Factors came together for Giving Wednesday, a one-day fundraiser dedicated to raising money for the Global Giving Foundation's Spain Flood Relief Fund. In October, massive floods invaded Valencia, Spain. 220 people were killed, 75,000 homes were flooded and 325,000 were affected. Water and gas supplies are intermittent and the economic fiber of the communities have been destroyed. Many people are still out of work and dependent on NGOs for food. We raised thousands of dollars to contribute to the overall goal of this fund to raise $1M. If you are so inclined, join in! This is the link to the Global Giving general donations page: https://lnkd.in/gx9vPAkX Join in to support the vision of a cleaner, greener, more sustainable world for future generations! #energytransition #renewableenergy
