On December 9, Samsung proudly gave #STEMeducation an added boost at Newberry High School. Under the guidance of Ms. Heather Alexander, the school earned recognition as the 2023-2024 South Carolina State Winner in the #SamsungSolve competition. To further support their educational efforts, Samsung just donated $10,000 to advance STEM initiatives at the school. The students also had the unique opportunity to tour the Samsung Electronics Home Appliances America (SEHA) facility, where they gained an up-close look at the diverse STEM career paths within the tech industry. We’re proud to champion these incredible students as they continue to explore how STEM can positively impact their community. #SFT_US_2024 #EnablingPeople

Since 2013, Tech Journey has been committed to inspiring central Iowa youth to engage with technology while helping them pursue tech careers. STEM jobs in Iowa are projected to grow by 12.3% by 2030, yet the number of students enrolled in technology courses continues to decrease. According to code.org in its 2024 State of Computer Science Education report, only 5.1% of all high school students in Iowa take computer science and only 21% are female. At Tech Journey, we're committed to closing this gap by providing access and opportunities to youth. In the spirit of #GivingTuesday, would you consider making a financial gift and helping us refresh our Chromebooks? Every dollar helps us transform the lives of underserved and underrepresented youth in our community and grow future Iowa tech talent. #nonprofit #technology #fundraising #jacobfromlinkedin

Preparing students for futures in STEM, whether it's in college or straight into their career, means equipping them with the classes to learn the basics while they're still in high school. Unfortunately, far too often, schools fall short, usually due to a lack of funding and resources. How will we ensure future innovation if our children don't know how to code or understand the fundamentals of engineering? Let us know: Did you have any STEM classes in high school? If you did, this is your sign to pass it on. Volunteer with us to teach classes and share our mission with others in your network. And if you didn't, you have the opportunity to lead change from within and be the impact that you could have had. #STEMeducation #STEMnonprofit #TheMoreYouKnow

At Sanity Solutions, we know the importance of investing in the future. That's why we love to donate to school STEM programs like we recently did with Regis Jesuit High School. We believe supporting kids in STEM isn't just about the present, it's about shaping tomorrow's innovators and problem-solvers. We're passionate about empowering young minds to explore, create, and dream big in the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. With many of our team members being former STEM kids themselves, we’ve experienced firsthand the impact that early exposure to STEM education can have on shaping career paths and driving innovation. By giving back to our local community, we're not just supporting a school; we're investing in the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and doers. Thanks to all who joined us in supporting this program! #STEMEducation #InvestingInTheFuture #CommunitySupport #SanitySolutions #informationtechnology #IT #STEM #education

We are dedicated to advancing STEM education to prepare future leaders in solar energy and sustainability. Here are some of our key initiatives this year: Support for the Tu + Yo Foundation: Our funding enables hybrid classes in underserved communities, providing essential staff and supplies to expand access to STEM learning. Partnership with Trust in Education: We are supporting the development of computer libraries for girls in Afghanistan, who are denied education beyond 6th grade. This partnership offers critical resources for learning in regions where traditional schooling is restricted. Sponsorship of Wolfpack Robotics 3859: Through this sponsorship, students gain hands-on experience competing in robotics challenges, fostering early interest and skills in STEM fields. Our mission is to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to drive the solar energy transition. By empowering diverse voices in STEM, we are building a sustainable and inclusive future for all. #STEMEducation #FutureOfEnergy #EnstallEmpowers #Sustainability #EducationForAll

Friends/Colleagues At Last Mile Education Fund we are fortunate to have wonderful funding partners that enable our work, however, nearly all of our funds are currently restricted to women or non-binary tech and engineering students. However, we receive applications daily from high-potential young men of color every day. 😥 For example, we are currently trying to find $$ to help a young Black man from Univ of Michigan secure housing for his internship this summer. He's on the brink of declining a prestigious tech internship because he simply does not have the capital or credit to secure housing months in advance of receiving the housing stipend (provided two weeks in advance of start date 🤦♀️ - don't get me started on the inequity of THAT policy). We are actively raising funds to meet the needs of striving young men of color in the last mile to a degree and career in tech. If you or your company is looking for a super high ROI social impact investment, let's talk. IMPACT Since inception, Last Mile has invested in 6,130 students via 7,141 direct grants totaling $7.5M to support degree completion for financially-vulnerable underrepresented students aimed at careers in tech. Last Mile grantees to date have been 41% Black, 21% Hispanic, 18% White, 10% Asian, and 2% Indigenous. Our average grant is currently $1,041. Fifty-three (53%) percent of Last Mile grantees identify as women or non-binary and 75% of our funds are invested in these students. Through all this investment, the average grant award per student hovers around $1000 – a negligible investment considering the sunk costs to date to get a student to the last mile in their tech journey and the fact that each student that completes a computing-related degree earns on average $43,375 more than a student with some college and no degree.
