As an HR professional committed to growth and excellence, I found myself at a significant crossroads in my career. The choice was between two acclaimed certifications: #SHRM, rooted deeply in the North American HR landscape, and #CIPD, which offers a broader, more global perspective. Here’s how my journey unfolded:
𝗦𝗛𝗥𝗠:
• Based in the #US and focused on #North American HR needs.
• Offers two certifications: SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP (EQF, Level 6)
• Certificate Prep Courses held over 12-18 weeks and can be completed online or in person
• To become SHRM certified, you must pass an exam and complete assignments.
𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗗
• Based in the UK worldwide and focused on #Europe and #MENA region's HR needs.
• Offers three levels of certification: at basic, intermediate and advanced levels (EQF levels 5-7)
• The length of the certificate depends on the level and can take 1-2 years to complete
• To become CIPD certified you will have to pass exams, complete assignments and study.

Consider your career goals, location, and budget.
CIPD is better known in many countries, including the #GCC, and offers a higher EQF if you pass CIPD Level 5 or Level 7. However, SHRM certification takes less time.
In conclusion, certification programs for HR professionals are offered by SHRM and CIPD. Depending on your unique needs and goals, you must decide which course of action to take.
