As we celebrate Kids Music Day, we are pleased to unveil a revamped version of SFSKids.org, the Symphony's free, online learning resource designed for young students & teachers. The website features games & exercises that cover the fundamental aspects of orchestral music—such as learning about the different instrument families—& aims to spark a general interest in music. SFSKids.org is designed for classroom use throughout the US but all are welcome to explore! #KidsMusicDay

#musicedtiptuesday Music classes should run as if they were art classes. There is always some level of copying involved in learning any art, but it should never stop there, and art classes definitely don’t. Try starting with creating something new! Music learning in school tends to get stuck at the copying part. Think about how learners could create their own piece, or add an element of creativity to anything they do. Keep it simple! #musiced #musedchat #musicteaching #creativity #creativemusicking #musicteachers
