AI talks are getting out of hand. I write, edit and post all my blog posts and Instagram posts myself. AI doesn't do anything for me. I write all my cover letters myself and have never used an online service for my CV. Do I think AI should be writing what humans can do perfectly fine? No. I don't. But all circumstances are different. Do I think AI is great for things other than writing? Yes. I do. I can't design anything without using Canva, so on the odd occasion it's fascinating to see how well AI can create whats in my mind through words. Doesn't mean I'll use those on my socials and blog. I don't dwell to much on AI nor do I doubt my own work if it's not to the AI standard. Have you tried to create a website with it? Headaches. On that note I am looking for a Web designer. I'm too busy trying to get to New York so unless AI can do that, RIP. What are your thoughts on AI? Are you a frequent user? Scared it will take over your bussiness? Let's connect.

Eight years ago, I lost my job and remained unemployed for about a year. Luckily, I was able to find a steady freelance job creating illustrations for a technology company. This period was very satisfying; the client was excellent, and I loved the work. I was free to work on my schedule and during the times of the day when I was most productive. Regrettably, this kind of job is not feasible anymore. With the availability of graphic design kits and templates that businesses can easily purchase on websites like Creative Market and Designer Cuts or companies like Adobe providing AI tools to the general public, the creative industry has changed significantly. Pandora's Box has been opened, and AI has arrived. I acknowledge that AI will improve many aspects of life and work. However, I will also continue to advocate for regulations regarding its usage and speak out on its negative impacts on the creative workforce. Many articles highlight only the benefits of AI to profitable companies. They often mention the potential impact of AI on human jobs in a sensationalist way but fail to address the complexity of the issue. The reality is that the rise of AI will have far-reaching financial consequences for workers in various industries, and it will also take an emotional toll on them. This is a widespread issue that needs to be addressed more seriously. What do creatives do when they are no longer allowed to be creative? Illustrators do more than draw pictures, and brand designers do more than create logos. These tasks require creative, conceptual thinking, often powered by the artist/designer's vision and passion. Innovative solutions that resonate and communicate with a lasting impact cannot be found with a text prompt. Analog over Algorithms™

Interesting article positively views # AI's potential impact on the design industry. Key quote: "A new wave of AI optimism is rolling through the design industry as #freelance designers increasingly embrace AI as a creative ally ..." We've been focusing on #generativeAI's impact on creative professionals, and we've found creatives tend to view #GenAI with both fear and optimism. The article ignores the fear of #AI replacement, and closes with this upbeat paragraph: "In an industry that's no stranger to disruption, it seems designers are welcoming AI as a collaborator, not a competitor. And with the majority looking to upskill and keep pace, they're proving that AI might just be the muse that creativity's been waiting for." We think it's too early to draw strong conclusions about AI's impact on creative professionals - and knowledge workers in general - but we hope this optimistic view is correct.

I just finished reading "The Midjourney Expedition" and wanted to share my thoughts. This book is about using AI to create amazing art, even if you're not a tech expert. It introduces Midjourney, a tool for creating AI art, and guides you through everything from setup to producing art on Discord. The author, Margarida Barreto skilled in communication and web design, makes it easy to understand with examples and tips, even for those who aren't tech-savvy. It shows practical uses for AI art, like storytelling and moodboards. This book is not just for artists; it's valuable for anyone in marketing, branding, or any creative field, and you only need basic web design knowledge. Overall, "The Midjourney Expedition" is a helpful guide to AI art, perfect for adding a special touch to your projects. If you're into art or want to enhance your work, give it a read! https://packt.link/by3I9

Finally an AI tool that helped me write rather than writing for me. After the issues of other tools literally making quotes up.. I tried the new AI 🤖 in Adobe Acrobat (I know! Bless Acrobat, such a fun name, such a dull job spec). Everyone else puts on a leotard when using Acrobat right? It let me search for quotes to back up points. Pull out key quotes. And summarise our thoughts on themes (with quotes). But the key difference was it proved each quote was real by linking to that part of the document. 👏🏻 And they made it easy to give feedback when it failed. Like with the custard. —— You’re not alone being freelance. With a place to ask questions, vent and celebrate, plus coworking, live shows, Mario Kart, socials and clearly a Book Club. No robots. All humans. Come join the community. #LIvideo #adobe #ai #freelancing

People in technology feel that they are not going to be disrupted by the rise of Artificial Intelligence. Guess what, they are wrong. Anything that can be automated using AI will be automated in the IT industry first. By 2028, expect a large Tsunami of job losses at the bottom level of the IT industry. Unfortunately, a majority of the Pakistani Software Houses provide low-cost services at the bottom of the pyramid. Similarly, freelancers like graphics designers, content writers, video editors, website designers, and user experience designers, all will see a massive decline in business at the lower end of the quality scale. Be prepared Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) and the Ministry of IT and Telecom Pakistan
